Mediterranean cuisine has always been full of heart, and now you can get your hands on the ingredients, flavours, and tastes integral to any Greek kitchen right here in our River City—curated by a proud Greek-Australian woman in a heartfelt tribute to her heritage. The name? Also an homage to homecooked meals made with love. This is Yiayia’s Pantry.
Founded by Toula Manias, the Toowong delicatessen offers a selection of pantry essentials sourced from both local and international producers. From premium Greek olive oils to sweet treats, mezze favourites, and traditional cheeses (we’re talking halloumi, kasseri, and kefalograviera which is used for saganaki), every item is selected for its authenticity, quality, and connection to culture.
Prefer to leave the cooking to the pros? Yiayia’s Pantry has a freezer stacked with ready-to-bake European comfort meals, like pastitsio, moussaka, and traditional souvlaki. Your charcuterie boards can also have a major uplift with Manias’ own secret marinated olives, sold by weight alongside a selection of imported European olives.
“For me, food has always been about love and connection," says Manias. “It’s how we gather, how we care for each other, and how we remember where we came from. Yiayia’s Pantry is a piece of my home that I want to share with others.”
