You’d think we would be pretty good at this whole lockdown thing by now and we should have all mastered the art of an at-home espresso martini and a DIY margarita. However, if you’ve entered lockdown without a well-stocked liquor cabinet (rookie mistake), don’t worry ‘cause we’ve got you covered.

The Gold Coast is buzzing with a flourishing brewery and distillery scene and lucky for us, many of them are doing takeaway drinks and booze delivery services directly to your door. Don’t resort to drinking that mysterious bottle at the back of the alcohol cupboard when you can order a delicious range of hand-brewed spirits and beers from local businesses.

As always, order online when possible, wear a mask if you’re picking up an order, do not travel more than 10 kilometres from your house, practice social distancing, and most importantly, stay safe. Now, go forth and quench your thirst with our list of Gold Coast breweries and distilleries open for takeaway.

Burleigh Brewing Co.

After a decade in business, it’s fair to say these guys revolutionised the local Gold Coast craft beer scene we know today, so we think it’s only right you return the favour and purchase some lockdown bevvies from them. To keep you well hydrated—without leaving the couch—this lockdown, Burleigh Brewing has come through and scored free delivery on all their boozy goodies. Simply use the code ‘beerathome’ and you can unlock free shipping on all your favs. Bonus: it’s free shipping Australia-wide so you can even send an outer state friend a slurp-worthy surprise to pick up their spirits in lockdown. Brownie points=scored.

Grandad Jack’s Craft Distillery

The Miami-based distillery has certainly secured its spot as one of the Gold Coast’s best distilleries, winning multiple awards for its spirits, including the World's Best Coffee Liqueur (yes, it tastes as good as it sounds). We knew the good folks behind Granddad Jack’s would keep us supplied with the best spirits on the GC, and boy, they did not disappoint. You can pop in‒masked up, of course‒and pick up takeaway spirits or order free local delivery between 10am and 5pm every day of lockdown. They say whisky is a good cure for many ailments and we’re certainly no doctors, but we think it might help get over a case of the lockdown blues.

Capricorn Distilling

If you stocked up on your rice and toilet paper but forgot to swing by the bottle shop, don’t stress ‘cause you can order lovingly hand-brewed cold ones to stock your fridge straight from Capricorn Distilling. While this newbie Burleigh distillery won’t open their doors during lockdown, they’ve done us a solid are slinging up free delivery on all orders. Simply order your favourite spirit (or a few) online and enter the code ‘COVIDSUCKS’, then sit by the door and eagerly await your drinks-to-door delivery. Getting booze delivered without having to leave the couch? We’ll drink to that.

Lost Palms Brewing Company

Getting lockdown cravings for a good, ol’ fashioned greasy burger? The legends at Lost Palms Brewing Company have got your back and they’ll even throw in a pack of tinnies for you too. You can swing by the pink and green-hued brewery anytime during their usual opening hours and snag a burger and a four-pack of growlers for the sweet price of $30. If you’re just after some liquid goodness, you can score $5 off all growler refills—and feel good knowing you’re supporting a local business too.

Precinct Brewing Co.

Don’t resort to sipping on that dusty old bottle of spirits hidden in the back of your booze cupboard—you’re better than that. Especially when Precinct Brewing Co. has their doors open and you can swing by for a takeaway growler and tinnie all lockdown long. Precinct’s brightly coloured walls will certainly brighten your mood when you grab a refreshing takeaway drink anytime between 11am and 5pm daily. We’re all about supporting local businesses, especially when bevvies are involved.

The Cambus Wallace

Well The Cambus Wallace isn’t a brewery, this nautical-themed rum and whisky bar is a Gold Coast institution and is certainly tackling lockdown in style. Order online from The Cambus Wallace’s substantial bar-style menu and treat yo’self by ordering a cocktail wine or beer with your delicious goodies. Scotch fillet, warm sticky date pudding and a hand-crafted cocktail delivered to your door? Now that’s what we call a lockdown feast. Sneaky tip: if you’re within 10 kilometres of this bad boy, you can pick up and score a sweet 20% off your entire order.

Fig + Frankie’s

We like to think of ourselves as at-home cocktail connoisseurs but our DIY negronis certainly have nothing on the master mixologists at Fig + Frankie’s. When your at-home cocktail antics just won’t do the trick, this sweet cocktail bar is the place to hit up to quench your lockdown thirst. Serving takeaway cocktails every night from 5pm to 8pm, you can sip on boozy goodness like our favourite Number Fourteen, which is a tantalising mix of grapefruit and rose vodka, salted watermelon and rose. Raise your pinkies and sip away.

Looking to do your part during this lockdown? Support more local businesses doing it tough during lockdown and order takeaway from these Gold Coast restaurants and cafes.
