You’re just 20 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport at this pet-friendly pad, and yet you’ll feel a world away as it’s a beautifully restored dairy. Roll on up to the front door and you’re likely to see cows, chickens and friendly farm dogs (hello Smudgee, Peggy and Peanut) on your way. Plus, you’re welcome to offer a carrot over the fence to the resident horses.
The great news is that the superstars who own this place love your animals too—and they charge just a small fee for you to bring a maximum of two dogs. I love that it's genuinely dog-friendly accommodation. Like, they provide dog towels for mucky pups and the deck and dairy garden are securely fenced. Kick back and relax on a sun-lounger on your deck, glass of wine at the ready and dog at your feet. Bliss. Book here.

I'm obsessed with the private wellness zone. It features a sparkling pool, six person stone sauna and ice bath/hot tub. This hot property is conveniently dog-friendly and kid-friendly. While the littles bounce on the tramp and explore the cubby consider cracking a coldie at sunset around the firepit. Book here.
Genoa Beach House
Surfers Paradise | Sleeps 8
Image credit: Genoa Beach House | Airbnb
Three bedrooms and three bathrooms. If that’s not a recipe for a successful group getaway I don’t know what is. When we rocked up to this pet-friendly Surfers Paradise home I was pretty surprised to see how quie it was, while still being just five minutes from patrolled beaches and a short tram ride to local attractions. It was actually a real blessing for the yard to be fully floor-boarded. We just threw down the dog bed in the shade and our pooch was pretty content. Many walkies around the neighbourhood's parks were a great way to experience the Gold Coast's 'burb life while being close to Surfers Paradise's many eateries.
Inside it’s crisp and clean, with wooden floors and a sparkling white kitchen, complete with breakfast bar for that morning coffee. But the outdoor area is where it’s really at—with its pool, outdoor dining area, barbecue, sun-loungers and outdoor shower, it’s a top spot to enjoy an Aperol Spritz before heading out on the town. Book here.
Intimate Rainforest Retreat
Elanora | Sleeps 2

Here's a romantic spot to impress the other half without leaving the dog behind. This pet-friendly rainforest escape on the Southern Gold Coast is just a ten-minute drive from Currumbin Rock Pools, and five minutes from the vibrant Currumbin Alley. And it's outdoor hot tub is serious getaway goals.
Pets are allowed on application for $50 per pet, per stay. Since this isn't a fenced property, it's a good fit for house-trained doggos who are happy on a leash while outside. This lush landscape means blue tongue lizards, possims and the occasional grass snake could be about. So I recommend this one for old dogs who just want to chill on your lap, or adventure-seekers who'll be out and about through the days. Book here.
Luxury Dog-Friendly Accommodation
House On Anne
Pottsville | Sleeps 8
For pet-friendly accommodation, Gold Coast locals may choose to venture a little further south for a quick getaway. That's exactly what Urban List Contributor Danielle Read did when she checked into House On Anne. "This place has absolutely everything for a dog-friendly stay. A completely enclosed outdoor area, lush grass and bifold doors so when your pooch is outside, you can still keep an eye on them from the living areas."
Danielle notes that "the short walk to waterways, cafes and parklands is the icing on the cake. We honestly only left the house once since there was plenty to do, see and experience inside." A butler's pantry, open-plan living, gold finishings in the bathrooms and plush linen mean that your dog's not the only one living it up, you are too. This place is seriously luxe and dogs are invited on application, so be sure to message and check you have the go ahead before booking in. Book here.
Tallaringa Private Luxury Glamping
Nunderi | Sleeps 3
Image credit: Tallaringa Private Luxury Glamping | Airbnb
It’s not every day you can go glamping with your dog in a partially-transparent dome but you absolutely can here. This is dog-friendly glamping at its best—the owners only ever take one booking at a time so you’ll have complete and utter privacy. There's plenty of space for dogs to do zoomies out in the open, mountain views and even a romantic outdoor bath available for an additional fee.
This pet-friendly Airbnb borders onto canefields, includes an outdoor cinema, and I loved the telescope for stargazing, because the skies are something else out here. While it's about an hour from Gold Coast, the dedicated guest barn with games and darts, a painting station to create a pet portait and a campfire - it's well-worth the roadtrip. Book here.
The Coffee Roasting Shed
Carool | Sleeps 2

Take your complimentary breakfast of homegrown coffee, honey, tea, bread and milk to the spacious outdoor deck and enjoy the sea and mountain views. There’s ample space for a game of fetch with the dog after which you can even do if you forgot your ball, one's provided.
