If you’ve struggled to find your groove with online fitness classes during iso, we get it. Tuning in and watching a screen, isn’t the same as sweating it up in a class full of endorphin-fuelled, health-focussed people.
But the game has just changed. As of Monday 1 June, the Queensland Government eased the coronavirus restrictions early and gave Gold Coast gyms the all-clear to open up, turn on their treadmills and get their classes back in action—for up to 20 people at a time.
So swap your trackies for activewear and check out the list below for the Gold Coast gyms and fitness studios that are re-opening for classes.
Combining dance-inspired movement with HIIT, strength, toning, ballet, Pilates, dance cardio and yoga, KBOD Fitness is the place to head for dance-based workouts that’ll never get boring. This Gold Coast fitness studio will be re-opening on Saturday 6 June, so hit up their Facebook page to find out how you can book your first class back.
You’ll feel about five inches taller, lighter and stronger than ever when you walk out of your first session back at Xtend Barre. The team have confirmed their re-opening date is set for Saturday 6 June, and ask that you bring your own resistance band and mat or towel, if possible.
If long lean guns and an overall body transformation is what you’re after, this Boxfit class is your answer. Held in the old-school KO Fitness boxing gym at Miami, this circuit-style boxing class is perfect for combating those iso months filled with Netflix and comfort food. With a mix of boxing, kickboxing, burpees and lunges (the fun stuff), this Gold Coast gym is back in action as of Monday 1 June.
While we loved Recover Wellbeing’s epic online community and free morning fitness sessions during the coronavirus pandemic, we’re super excited to see this Currumbin fitness studio back in action. Re-opening their doors on Monday 15 June, the team will implement a ‘Covid-safe plan’, asking clients to use hand sanitiser on entry and exit, arrive on time (not early) to limit the amount of people in the space and BYO towel and socks.
Pilates & Co
Offering a few different class options from beginner, intermediate and reformer to HIIT and Met Con (metabolic conditioning) Pilates & Co will help you find your way back to a toned bod and refreshed mind in no time. Located upstairs of Kira & Kira on the GC highway, this Gold Coast Pilates studio is re-opening on Tuesday 2 June. In addition to the current classes listed on the timetable, they are also offering private and small group classes if there’s a few of you who want to sweat it out together.
If you’ve been missing your high-performance boxing and strength sessions at your local 12RND Fitness, we’re happy to report their Gold Coast gyms are set to re-open from Monday 8 June, including the Palm Beach and Southport locations.
KX is Japanese for ‘change for the better’, and if there’s one thing we feel about COVID-19 restrictions easing, it’s this sentiment. Get back into your fitness zone with high intensity reformer Pilates classes at this ultra-modern space in Miami. KX Pilates will be re-opening their doors on Saturday 6 June, with class sizes reducing to 12 people per class until all restrictions are lifted.
Not only have the doors just re-opened at F45 Training Broadbeach, but they’ll launching their next 45-day challenge on Monday 15 June. So if you’re ready get to whipped into shape, take this as an opportunity to kick start your training routine and undo what bad habits you may have picked up during isolation.
