The Pole House
FAIRHAVEN
If you’ve ever driven down the Great Ocean Road, chances are you’ve seen this architectural wonder looming over you. Hanging 40 metres above Fairhaven Beach, The Pole House is fit for two people to live their best lives in, with literal wall-to-wall views of the ocean coming at you from every side. A suspended fireplace that hangs from the ceiling is set to keep you cosy, as well as not interrupt the vista too much. This unique accommodation is sure to be the highlight of your trip, if you’ll pardon the pun.
The Cliff's Edge
FAIRHAVEN
They weren’t kidding around when naming the place —The Cliff's Edge parks itself right on a lofty perch for some pretty stellar views. A huge outdoor wooden deck is the perfect place to hang loose with your friends or family, especially considering the panoramic view you’ll be right in front of. An outdoor fireplace will mean some cosy nighttime sessions, and the inside is fully kitted out with a spacious lounge, kitchen and living area, making it a perfect getaway destination.
Fairhaven Beach Retreat
FAIRHAVEN
180-degree views are the first thing that will catch your eye at Fairhaven Beach Retreat. Only a three-minute walk to Fairhaven Beach, this five-bedroom haven is centrally located, and you’re only a few doors down from Pole House if you didn’t manage to nab that one. This place has views stretching from Airey's Inlet to Lorne, so we’re pretty certain you’ll be able to catch a spectacular sunset or two while you’re there. There’s also plenty of indoor and outdoor patio furniture to park yourself on, so no matter what the weather, you’ll still get to enjoy those picturesque views.
The Deckhouse
WYE RIVER
What makes The Deckhouse so good? Well for starters it’s positioned up in the hills of Wye River and its wooden deck gives an absolutely spanking view of the coast. The secluded spot on the Great Ocean Road provides the ultimate romantic getaway and is only a short stroll from the water and the quaint gem that is Wye River. The house is an open-plan dream and the floor-to-ceiling windows provide views through every room except the ensuite. We’ll let you decide if you think it’s one of the best places to stay on the Great Ocean Road.
12 Rocks Beach View Loft
PORT CAMPBELL
Port Cambell boasts one of the prettiest beaches in all of Victoria, and this Airbnb looks directly out onto it, so that’s one less thing you need to worry about. Located right above a cafe, this is a spacious loft conversion with open-plan living that leads out onto the balcony with its picturesque views. Only a 10-minute drive from the Twelve Apostles, this is a great base camp for all the sightseeing around the Great Ocean Road.
Y Vue Apartment
WYE RIVER
The Y Vue Apartment is nestled on the point of Wye River, and we can’t deny how stunning it is. This exquisite little spot is snug but has everything you’d want in a wintery escape, with a cosy apartment that feels more like a wood cabin, nestled right into the hill just metres from the water. With a balcony that looks out onto the entire miniature bay and a spa that juts out perfectly, you can sit and soak while taking in the endless waves that roll into the sleepy little surf town.
Apostle Hideaway
PORT CAMPBELL
Tucked away, Apostle Hideaway is the ideal spot to kick back away from the crowds, but not so far away you feel like you’re in the sticks. The master suite on the upper level of the house has the perfect view of Two Mile Bay, aka some of the best waves to surf at. There’s also a huge firepit outdoors for entertaining in the evening, or even just keeping a little extra toasty. 10 minutes away from the Twelve Apostles, a short stroll to Port Campbell beach and plenty of dining options only a two-minute drive away makes Apostle Hideaway a perfectly located spot to unwind in.
