These Completely Transparent Bubbles Are Primed For Some Of The Best Stargazing In Victoria

By

If you’ve been looking for a unique stay in Victoria, we think we’ve found the one—or two, to be exact. They’re called Bubble Retreats, hidden in the rolling hills of Wilson’s Prom.

They’re two sizeable self-sufficient Airbnbs, with the main drawcard being a bubble-like design with almost 360-degree views atop a massive 11-metre deck overlooking the stunning Gippsland scenery. It’s the perfect pad to disconnect from the city chaos, whether you opt for a spot of solo travel or book a romantic getaway with your lover.

Bubble Retreats offers some of the most mesmerising stargazing. Completely secluded, this local escape spot has everything you need: huge deck with armchairs and BBQ, Bluetooth speaker to set the mood with soulful tunes, mini kitchenette filled with all the cooking bits and bobs, split heating and cooling system making it an all-year-rounder, and the cosy queen-sized bed has wrap-around privacy curtains.

Owners and partners Tim and Heloise sketched the design themselves, and after submitting the concept to Airbnb’s OMG! Competition, their dream came to fruition. Two years down the line, and Bubble Retreats maintains a whopping 4.99 rating on Airbnb, beloved among all its guests—including us.

These usually book out several months in advance, so it’s one you’ll need to plan around. Oh, and make sure you say g’day to the resident cows when you do find yourself staying in a bubble—they’re very friendly. Right this way to book your stay at Etolie, or over here to book Asteria.
