The folks at Four Pillars Gin were at it again over summer, and this time they’ve brought the heat.
The premium Australian gin distillery has paired up with their mates at Stranger & Sons, an award winning craft distillery based in Goa, India, to create the latest and spiciest collaboration in their distillery series, Spice Trade Gin.
The specialty gin combines the bold spices rooted in India’s heritage with native Australian flavours, resulting in a modern Indian take on Australian gin. Think spicy Szechuan, long pepper and fresh red chilli held together by a seamless blend of sarsaparilla, Indian cashews and Australian macadamias.
The perfectly captured, complex flavours of Indian botanicals and aromas give this gin a spicy kick—Four Pillars distiller Cameron Mackenzie describes it as a spice bazaar in a bottle that isn’t for the faint of heart.
The spice doesn’t stop with this colourful concoction—former owner of Melbourne eatery Pope Joan and creative director for Made from Gin by Four Pillars Gin Matt Wilkinson has whipped up a Gin Botanical Curry Powder which perfectly pairs any curry with Spice Trade Gin.
Spice Trade Gin will be available at good bottle shops, online, at the Four Pillars Distillery door in Healesville and the Sydney Laboratory in Surry Hills from Thursday 25 March. If you can’t wait that long, subscribe to Four Pillars Gin for early access from Tuesday 16 March.
