A Boozy Hot Chocolate High Tea Is Hitting The Botanic Gardens This Winter

By

Just when we thought high teas couldn’t get any better, the Gardens House at the Royal Botanic Gardens went and put boozy hot chocolates on the menu—we’re impressed. Every Sunday during July and August this charming venue nestled in the beautiful gardens will be hosting an idyllic high tea, with a menu from the award-winning caterers at Atlantic Group

Put on your Sunday best and get tuck into a selection of savoury and sweet treats. They’ll be serving free-range egg and truffle sandwiches; smoked salmon, dill and crème fraîche with Avruga pearls on charcoal cones; mini quiche lorraine; wagyu sausage rolls; and of course, no high tea is complete without fresh buttermilk scones. As for the sweet stuff, you’ll be treated to a red velvet lamington with lemon cheesecake frosting; a chocolate creme, salted caramel bavious and burnt butter chocolate cookie crumble; and a vanilla bean macaron with black sesame crust. These are just some of the highlights—there’s plenty more where these came from.

The high tea experience also includes unlimited tea and coffee, as well as that indulgent bottomless boozy hot chocolate we mentioned earlier. If that doesn’t get you through these frosty winter days, then we don’t know what will. If you’re wanting to brave the elements though, there will also be some family-friendly garden games set up outside, including giant jenga, giant connect four, quoits and dominos.

Tickets for this delightful event are on sale now, with adult tickets at $95, and children under 12 years at $45. You can book tables of two, four or six people, so get on the group chat and start organising asap.
