Hella Good is the latest greek eatery to open in Fitzroy and to celebrate they’re giving away free souvlakis next Friday, the 26th of August. From 11 am on Friday, they’ll be serving up 113 souvas to celebrate their new home at 113 St David Street Fitzroy.
Owner, Nicole Papasavas is continuing her family’s legacy–you may know the name from everyone’s favourite Melbourne Greek institution, Stalactites. Hella Good will have a smaller menu but feature many of the generations-old recipes that we all know and love from their family business, and yes that does include their famous homemade dips, although you’ll have to get in early before they sell out.
This isn’t your normal late-night kebab shop. The Fitzroy store is located just off of Smith St and features an exposed brick, minimalist fit-out. The new store features a new menu addition–The Hella Big Box. It comes with fresh marinated sliced giros from the spit, your choice of chicken, lamb or mixed meats, hot chips, Greek salad, pita bread and homemade tzatziki.
There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, and Hella Good has their coeliac Australia accreditation, meaning there’s something for everyone. Orders can be eaten in or taken out and there are catering options for your next event.
If you’re looking for a hella good souvlaki (sorry, we had to), this is the place to go.
