There's nothing Melbourne loves more than a boutique dessert spot. The city practically crumbled with excitement when Uncle Tetsu landed a few years back and now we're set to come apart all over again with LeTao opening its first store.

Opening back in 1998 in Otaru on Hokkaido (Japan's second largest Island) LeTao originated as a small-batch cheesecake store. Cultivating a devout following with their signature 'Double Fromage' recipe: A combination of Hokkaido cream, Australian cream cheese, and Italian Marscapone.

Their standing-room-only store on Swanston is a sleek industrious marvel, a combination of stone and concrete provides a platform for the cheesecakes to shine.

There's an artisan level of craft to the texture and balance of flavours in every cheesecake from their original 'Double Fromage' to the more indulgent 'Double Chocolat' with Spanish chocolate and even a sweet pumpkin option.

Alongside the brick-and-mortar store, LeTao also offers online ordering across Australia with cheesecake delivery right to your door—not a bad Christmas gifting option.

LeTao is open now at 238 Swanston Street in the City, head over here for more.
