Now Open: A Limited-Run French-Asian Bistro By Rosheen Kaul
Rosheen Kaul's resume is as impressive as they come: former head chef at Etta, award-winning author of two cookbooks, food columnist and the brain behind beloved Armadale pop-up Bistro Marigold. Her next venture? A French-Asian diner landing on Brunswick Street this May.
Popping up in the former Alta Trattoria site (currently hosting Sydney's Ragazzi), Little Rose won't just be home to Kaul's coveted cooking—the new venue is a joint venture with top Melbourne bartender Joe Jones (founder of Romeo Lane).
Together, the pair will bring together French classics with Asian-leaning flair.
In Kaul's words, Little Rose will be "a bit more undone" than Bistro Marigold.
"Still thoughtful, but easier," she says, "something you can settle into."
The food menu is still under wraps, but promises to deliver French bistro fare with Asian flair—a relaxed selection of plates that let you sit, savour and stay late into the night.
Officially opening at 274 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy on 9 May, Little Rose bookings are now open.
