The government is back at it, this time they’re helping us celebrate the upcoming Queen’s Birthday long weekend with the launch of their dining vouchers. City of Melbourne has just provided an update to their 'CBD Dining Experiences Scheme', which they originally announced earlier this month.
Kicking off on Friday 11 June, the scheme will provide diners with a 20% rebate off bills (up to a maximum value of $100) when they spend between $50 and $500 at cafes and restaurants within the CBD precinct.
They’ve also released how the rebate will work which requires getting an itemised receipt, taking a photo of it alongside your banking details and uploading it to the Melbourne Money website. The rebate will then come through to your allocated bank account within five business days.
Part of a $260 million package that is aimed at returning Melbourne’s vibrant and diverse inner-city culture and hospitality scene back to its former glory.
The Dining Experiences Scheme is part of a wider stimulus package for Melbourne’s CBD, with a combined budgetary injection from both City of Melbourne and the Victorian Government. The overall package looks at maintaining and supporting the cultural identity of the city with funding going to small businesses, the arts. as well as cultural celebrations and festivals.
