Newcomer to the Gertrude Street strip, Poodle, has quickly cemented itself as a northside mainstay since the doors swung open pre-lockdown, between lockdown and then again after. You’ve got head chef Josh Fry (ex-Cumulus) leaning into a playful Euro-inspired, seafood-leaning menu, and a considered yet extensive wine and drinks list to match—earlier this year they threw a full-venue party to celebrate the opening of their upstairs cocktail haunt, and this Sunday 28 March they’re throwing another all in support of a good time.
It’s dubbed “Patio Party”, and round one slapped so hard that it sold out. This time, they’re calling in some mates from around the traps to ensure satisfaction: Mono XO’s Sam Stafford will be out on the patio manning a charcoal grill and serving his signature bites, while natural wine purveyor/royalty is set to present some of his favourite natties and beyond.
Or, head upstairs to the newly-revealed space and you’ll find Fry taking the reins on a seafood bar focusing on raw dishes—get on those aqua pazza oysters stat.
Regardless of where you happen to be in the venue, Poodle will be calling in several vibe-bringers. Last time, DJs like Pjenne, Milú and Katie Pearson were behind the wheels of steel, so you can expect a similar calibre come Sunday.
Tickets—which sold out around this point last time—are $22.19 and can be booked here.
