QVM’s Plant-Based Vegan Market Is Making Its Triumphant Return This Weekend

By Kate Fleming

The facade of the Queen Vic Market drenched in sunlight.

K Shed at QVM is being taken over by the Vegan Market of Melbourne. Established by Melbourne-based vegan Simon Hughes, the market brings together the best vegan businesses in Melbourne, spanning food and drink to cosmetics and clothes.

Highlights include, but certainly aren't limited to, Vegan Berlin-style döner kebabs Oh My Döner, gluten-free goods from G. Free Donuts and fresh produce from Urban Farming Collective. Those wanting to look good while feeling good about wearing it can stop by Spliced Eco Fashion for a haul of vegan fashion and accessories.

It’s the first and only monthly vegan market in Melbourne, and the growing number of punters is evidence enough that veganism is on the rise. Being plant-based in your diet and your lifestyle isn’t a new thing, but it’s certainly growing in popularity—even Sir David Attenborough is advocating for a more plant-based lifestyle, and we wouldn’t want to disappoint Sir David.

Head along to Queen Victoria Marke, Shed K, beginning Saturday 3 July between 9am and 4pm for the ultimate vegan shopping day.
