There are no shortage of watering holes in Collingwood and surrounds for you to satiate that craving for a frothy, though even in the before time, nabbing a seat at one’s desired watering hole wasn’t easy. And with restrictions, that hasn’t eased up. Fortunately, the Lame Duck’s new sibling bar, aptly named the Lame Deck, is here to ease the load and keep you quenched.
Owners Letitia Lillis and Sam Sleigh wanted a sort-of outdoor oasis to accompany their oft-heaving dancefloor just around the corner. To dial the vibe Lillis has called in the help of their 76yo mum who’s helped the duo stitch together plenty of vintage handmade furniture—there’ll also be 80s inspired cocktails to match the decore.
Out on the ‘deck’ you’ll find nothing but good vibes, and unlike the banger playing over at the Duck, punters can expect a mix of Hall & Oates, Kenny G, Fleetwood Mac, Evelyn 'Champagne' King and plenty more nostalgic throwbacks.
The Lame Deck is open Thursday and Friday from 4pm to 11pm, Saturday from 2pm to 11pm and Sunday from 2pm to 9pm. Get there early if you’re hoping to nab a spot under the straw umbrellas.
Once you’re done here, make the most of your weekend and check out this street party courtesy of 3 Ravens Brewery.
