The MINI Edition | Top 10 Things to do in Melbourne in April

By

Let’s be honest, Listers. Last month, you went a bit nuts. The cause of the craziness? Our very first, hot-off-the-press, inaugural, shiny new MINI Edition—counting down the top 10 things to do in Melbourne for March. How many did you tick off?

Now we’re back, bigger and better than ever, with an even more epic April MINI Edition—the ONLY guide you’ll need to the top things to do in Melbourne in April. Get amongst it!

10. Perfect Match at Milk the Cow

Show your support for some of Victoria’s best local producers by heading along to Milk the Cow’s perfect match evenings. Head to the St Kilda outpost on Monday 6th April or Carlton on Tuesday 7th, and experience the oozy, boozy delights of Meredith Dairy cheeses matched with Pacha Mama Wines.

9. Get Hitched Vegas-style at the Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo

One for all the lovers out there, Melbourne has welcomed the first 24-hour, Vegas-style wedding venue, The Church of Bang Bang Boogaloo. Blue suede shoes not included, hipsters on your marks…

8. Chow Down at New Melbourne restaurant, Chow City

Asian fusion has never looked so good as at hot new CBD opening, Chow City. The cocktails are killer, and the dishes almost (we said almost) too pretty to eat. Two words: pork belly.

7. Surf’s Up at the Rip Curl Pro

Clear your diaries, surfer dudes and beach babes—the Rip Curl Pro takes over iconic Bells Beach from 1st to 12th April. Gnarly.

6. Get Juiced at Serotonin Eatery

Melbourne welcomes a new happiness café and wellness hub this month, Serotonin Eatery. Peddling smoothies and healthy meals, alongside a program of fitness and wellness classes, there’s a new (Serotonin) Dealer in town. And you’ll be hooked.

5. New Deli Alert: Jack Horner

Fans of Matt Wilkinson’s Pope Joan, get excited! This month sees the opening of Jack Horner in Brunswick East. An all-in-one deli-grocer-café concept, we’ll be seeing you on the corner.

4. Get Your Etsy On at The Cullen

What's almost as good as a vacation? A staycation in one of Melbourne’s best boutique hotels! This month, our friends at The Cullen in Prahran are offering a truly unique curated accommodation experience, with junior penthouse suites kitted out with the ultimate Etsy edit from 13th to 29th April. Fell in love with that one-of-a-kind quirky cushion? You can buy it afterwards on Etsy—the ultimate souvenir of your Melbourne mini-break.

3. Oyster Frenzy at The Deck

Feast yourself silly on oysters at The Deck at The Prince on 30th April. Don't be shellfish, there’s enough salty goodness to go ‘round at this pearl of an event.

2. TOASTA Tuesdays at The Nelson

Rum and toasties, now that’s a combo we want to get our gobs around! Head down to St Kilda’s hottest rum bar from 4pm each Tuesday (Cheeseday?), when the jaffle irons will get firing.

1. Burch & Purchese Wins at Easter

Easter Bunny, shmeester bunny. We’re taking matters into our own hands and buying our own stash of luxury chocolatey goodness at South Yarra’s Burch & Purchese. This year’s Easter collection from Darren Purchese (aka Melbourne’s very own Willy Wonka) is Off. The. Hook. Diets be damned.

Can't wait to hit up all the events this month? Well why not WIN somethin' while you do?! Simply Instagram and tag @miniaustralia and #theminiedition when you are at any of the 10 April events, and you’ll be in the draw to win dinner for you and four friends, plus a bottle of bubbles, at hot new Melbourne restaurant, Chow City
