Sitting right on the crest of Abbotsford at the tail end of Victoria Street sits V Wine Salon.
This outlet for vino enthusiasts is pouring a range of grape varieties from around the globe from local makers in Australia's hot spots to famed international regions. A stripped-back approach defuses any insecurity or knowledge gap for the wines on offer.

Stepping through to this intimate little hideaway with tiled benchtops, white walls and dark wooden furniture instantly settles you into a gentle ease as you swirl Malbec from Loire Valley, Sangiovese straight from Tuscany, and Riesling from across the pond in Tasmania.

The snacking menu is small and simplistic with both cheese and charcuterie options that are entirely seasonally and chosen based on your choice of crushed grape variety. There’s also a couple gourmet toasties on offer for something more substantial as well as a baked camembert with truffle honey and rosemary.

Wednesday plays host to a sommelier curated wine and cheese night where a savings account-friendly $10 gets you two different glasses of wine paired with rotating cheeses on offer.

The brainchild of Bordeaux born co-founder Vianney Establet, V Wine Salon has been designed in part with the extensive experience of the Frenchman who was born into one of the most award-winning wine regions located in the south of France.

With a decade of experience through Michelin starred establishments including Vue De Monde, and a slew of wine joints from across the world,  Vianney leads as Head Sommelier providing no fluff recommendations and even lends his time to wine masterclasses on Saturday's.

V Wine Salon is a must-try for both novice and experienced winos and is open Tuesday to Sunday.
