This year Pride is returning to the skies with Virgin Australia’s colourful, glittery, and just bloody fabulous ‘Pride Flight’; a celebration of the LGBTIQA+ community of grand proportions 40,000 feet in the sky.

The Pride Flight's triumphant return marks the airline’s commitment and support to the community; “every year, we are fortunate to fly guests to Australia’s largest gay and lesbian celebration in Sydney, and as the ultimate festival of love, acceptance and inclusivity, we could not miss the opportunity to bring our wonderful Pride Flight celebration back again in 2022”, said Lisa Burquest, CPO at Virgin Australia.

The inflight entertainment looks a little different than your regular domestic trip. MC’d by none other than RuPaul’s Drag Race alumn Maxi Shield and Coco Jumbo, there’s a pre-takeoff party, bottomless drinks on board, drag show performances down the aisles, DJ’s spinning tracks and plenty of rainbow, glitter and good times.

The entire mid-air journey festivities are included in your ticket so there’s so extra spending whilst on deck, and $30 of each seat sold will be then donated to Minus 18, the youth organisation that provides support to LGBTQIA+ individuals under the age of 18.

This year there’ll be two flights on Friday 4 March, taking off from Melbourne and Brisbane spreading rainbow trails across Australia whilst they make their way to Sydney. For more information on Pride Flight head over here.
