If you love the Bond Street restaurant Maha, then hold onto your reigns as Shane Delia and his team have launched Maha East, a more relaxed version keeping in theme with Middle Eastern cooking in the trendy streets of Windsor. New Head Chef Simon Lillico invites guests in for cruisy boozy lunches, date nights or simply some post-work cocktails and snacks at the bar.
Maha East is serving up some of Maha’s signature dishes including the Turkish delight doughnuts and slow-roasted lamb shoulder yet spicing it up with some new dishes such as taramasalata filled fried buns with salmon caviar. The beverage list will also feature Maha’s famous Pomegranate Sour cocktail as well as over 120 bottles of wines, all hand-picked ranging from bottles churned decades ago to ones concocted just yesterday.
The team are aiming for locals to feel they can waltz on in at any time and be treated to dishes that boast love and care but are not so concerned with being fancy. For larger groups, a four-course banquet menu will be available featuring meze platters, larger plates of meat and vegetables as well as some sweet treats to finish.
The space has been revamped by Studio Y who have included black and white tiles checkered across the floor and counter seating along the bar with a semi-open kitchen towards the back. A cosy, 40-seater restaurant that gives off the vibe of a bistro or local trattoria rather than the expected middle-Eastern setup. So if you love some hummus and the spices of Persia on a plate, then head on down to Maha East and experience the new flavours the exciting new venue has to offer.
