The Verdict

If you’re in dire need of a quick but powerful caffeine fix in Camberwell, Nigel is where it’s at.

Owner Daniel Dick (Age of Sail) is a Melbourne hospitality veteran who is very serious about coffee. That’s why when you step into Nigel, you know you’re getting the highest quality coffee fix around. And while I’m usually sceptical about eye-rolling-inducing proverbs like “good things come in small packages,” well, that’s literally what Nigel is all about.

The shop is teeny tiny (we’re talking 35 square metres) but boasts a lot of high-quality ST ALi roasts and delicious jaffles that’ll keep you full until dinner: ham, cheese and chutney, Reuben, tuna melt, smokey chicken and for the meat averse, beetroot and goat’s cheese or beans (gotta get that protein somewhere). If you’re looking for a sugar hit, there are also plenty of delicious sweets to sample.

Nigel is located on the ground floor of the Camberwell Shopping Precinct and is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm. Just follow the smell of fresh coffee.
