The Verdict
Overlook is a bar and café next to the Astor Theatre that just screams ‘Here’s Johnny’. Disappear into an art deco dream (or nightmare as the case may be) named after the Overlook Hotel from Stephen King’s The Shining. Sip on carefully crafted cocktails, fine wines and craft beers or any of their selection of Australian spirits if the eerie surroundings leave you jittery.
On the food front, it’s an ode to some of Melbourne’s best establishments. Snack on pies and pastries with your coffee or hoe into Doughboys Doughnuts. To complement your tipple taste something cheesy from Milk the Cow and meaty from DOC’s charcuterie. The only thing that’s not on this menu is REDRUM.
