Great news—it’s almost the weekend! Even better news? It’s almost the weekend, and you’re in Auckland for it. As per usual, this phenomenal city of ours is dishing up the goods. From festivals (even a Shakespeare one), to circuses, and even a dessert degustation, there’s something for everyone.  

Get your diaries out—you’ve got a whole lotta things to pack in this weekend!

Power Plant

This is the Auckland Domain like you’ve never seen it! This nocturnal bush walk brings the best of light and sound in this immersive nature experience. Brought to you by five internationally acclaimed artists and New Zealand local sonicfromscratch, it’ll be hard to believe you’re in central Auckland!

Silo Park Weekend 14

An outdoor cinema, food trucks, a vintage market, and stellar craft brews going all weekend—what more could you ask for? Silo Park’s got it goin’ on with events on everyday that’ll tickle everyone’s fancy. It’s World Cinema this Friday with Chinese action movie The Monkey King getting the ball rolling for this jam-packed weekend.

We all love a breathtaking circus… ever had it with breakdancing, trial biking, contortion and in-line skating? 15 performers from over 13 disciplines are coming to Auckland after sell-out seasons overseas to give us just that. The Civic transforms into an urban circus and you’ve got to be there.

The Oyster Festival

As sad as we are to see summer come and go, there’s no time to sulk, ‘cause it’s oyster season! Restaurants along Princes Wharf are helping us celebrate, with a WHOLE MONTH dedicated to oysters! Euro, The Culpepper, Coley and Punch, The Crab Shack and Fish Restaurant are all in on the fun and have oyster specials on all day ‘errday of this month. As You Like It

Pop-up Globe Theatre has impressed every season, and this one will be no different. Shakespeare’s classic comedy As You Like it is in its final showings this weekend, and you’re not to miss it. Immerse yourself in the space that Shakespeare’s works were written for in Auckland’s very own Globe Theatre, in the exact style it was written.

The Pink Flamingo

Heaven and Hell Guided Tours

Pop-up Globe is inviting you backstage! This full-scale working replica of the Globe Theatre hosts some of Auckland’s best Shakespeare plays and this is one very exclusive look into its workings. The Colour Run

This 5km run is focused on fun, rather than skill and speed.
