Pop-Up Globe

Shakespeare’s Globe is popping up in Ellerslie this week and presenting the much-loved comedies: As You Like It and Much Ado About Nothing. With live music and acting, it will take you back to ye olde days. You’ll wanna check them out to see what all the fuss is about and if they’re truly Much Ado About Nothing.

Swing Dancing

It’s time to get old school; forget the dougie, the running man and the whip nae nae, Swing Out Central and Gin Mill Swing teach the Jitterbug, the Charleston, Lindy Hop and more. Learn some moves that will actually impress your mates. Their new block of classes starts this week with five venues across Auckland. Keen to see what it’s all about? They offer a free first class to first-timers! And don't worry, you don’t need a partner to head along—you’ll dance your way around the room with all the other friendly folk there! Auckland Pride Festival

Continuing this week is Auckland Pride Festival, which celebrates culture, diversity, sexuality and gender identity. There’s still a tonne of events happening, including Hot Wet Beauties’ water ballet performance at Parnell Baths. We’re also looking forward to performances such as Ze: Queer as Fuck, Rock & Spier, The Girl from Oz and—of course—the much-loved Pride Parade this weekend. Oh, what a week this will be! Continue enjoying the summer vibes with Auckland’s fun and quirky Fringe Festival!
