Hidden beneath bustling Queen Street, Secret Piano Bar is an intimate pozzy packed with cabaret artists, musicians, cocktails, and late-night magic. Since none of us are making the break for New York just now, this is legit the next best thing.
The pop-up bar is part of Auckland Live’s Cabaret Season. For ten days and nights (23 June – 4 July) decadent movie palace The Civic will play host to a winter feast of cabaret fusing ultimate glamour with the grit of the gutter. And, one thing’s for certain: the shows are guaranteed to be packed with ALL the glitz and glam.
Once the curtain has dropped, your night isn’t over—nope, it’s just getting started. Storm the stage and belt out a tune or sit and sip a martini in a darkened corner while absorbing the timeless underground carnival vibe of the Cabaret Season’s secret hideout. The Secret Piano Bar will showcase guest performers as well as being hosted by charming master pianist Robin Kelly.
Open from 7pm ‘til late, the cosy bar will be in action daily during cabaret season. The best part? While details are yet to be confirmed, you'll need to enter the bar under 'mysterious circumstances'—watch this space.
