Street Eats, The Epic Multi-Level Foodie Fest Is Happening This Weekend

These days, the best kind of food comes straight from the streets. Whether it’s a cart, caravan or truck—these tiny, portable kitchens are pumping out some of the best food in town. This July, the city's expert chefs will be slinging their moreish creations at a two-day multi-level festival extravaganza unlike any other (you had us at burlesque Go-Go dancers).

Hosted at the iconic Shed 10 as part of the Elemental AKL in the dead of winter this weekend, Street Eats is one event definitely worth venturing outdoors for. Packed to the rafters with pop up restaurants serving their favourite street foods, pop up bars serving craft beers, boutique spirits and natural wines and live bands and DJs across both floors you'll have the chance to choose from a family-friendly afternoon event or the adults-only (R20) after-dark sessions.

For eats, get your chops around food from Nanam, South American Oven, Mr Spicer, Farina,
Gracefully Jerked, Loco Bro’s, Sumthin Dumplin, Siamese Doll, Mighty Hotdog, Mrs Higgins and Hangi Master and wash it all down with drinks poured by Deep Creek Brewery, Honest Spirits, Juno Gin, Liberty Brewing Co, Morning Cider, McLeod’s Brewing, LWF Distilling, Native Hard Sparkling, Blush Gin and Waitoa Beer.

Get your groove on with live bands throughout the two days including The Rvmes, The Meme Wilda Band, Hopetoun Brown and with sets from by Sammie, Sweet Mix Kids, Mr Big Stuff, Bavhu, and Magic Dick Johnson of Weird Together Sound System. Best of all—Scottish aerialist and acrobat Lauren Jamieson will be performing each day at the event as the “Twisted Mistress” with her performances taking place during the DJ sets and DJ Forge’s sets each evening will be accompanied by Burlesque performers from Hootchy Kootchy Girls Burlesque Studio.

It's going to be an awesome weekend so grab your tickets here and we'll see you there!
