Aucklanders, forget being sad that summer is over because there's still a get a chance to catch some heat. The Hot Sauce Festival returns for its fourth year this May. If you’re a lover of spice, then you won’t want to miss this one, folks. The Annual NZ Hot Sauce Festival will have you trying locally made hot sauces from New Zealand brands to enjoy there or to take home.
Things kick off on Saturday, 25 May with a review from Johnny Scoville from Chase the Heat—one of the world's most famous heat seekers. This will be followed by the New Zealand Chilli Eating Championship, where both experienced and rookie contestants encounter the world's hottest chilli, the Carolina Reaper. Afterwards, White Chapel Jak will kick off the music, followed by DJs into the night.
The next day sees the Homemade Hot Sauce Competition, which is followed by Johnny Scoville who returns for the Johnny vs World Chilli Challenge.
Feel the burn with more than sauces as this festival, as they will also be serving up some spicy cocktails, a specially brewed Chilli Beer and a smokehouse food menu that’ll have your face turning red but your tastebuds dancing.
Gather some of your cheeky chilli-lovin’ friends and spice up your life by grabbing a ticket to this special event. Psst, your ticket even gets you a complimentary bottle of Fire Dragon Hot Sauce!
