Aucklanders, forget being sad that summer is over because there's still a get a chance to catch some heat. The Hot Sauce Festival returns for its sixth year this May. If you’re a lover of spice, then you won’t want to miss this one, folks. The Annual NZ Hot Sauce Festival will have you trying international and locally-made hot sauces to enjoy there or to take home.
Things kick off from midday on Saturday, 29 May as you get amongst the special Hot Sauce Festival street eats, and when things get too hot to handle, save your taste buds with some award-winning craft beer brewed right on site. This will be followed by the New Zealand Chilli Eating Championship, where both experienced and rookie contestants will encounter several Kiwi chillis hotter than the world's hottest—the Carolina Reaper. Afterwards, Brotherhood Musiq will kick off the music, The Rock resident DJ as well as Roger Farrelly from The Rock Morning Rumble MCing.
If you think you have what it takes to concoct a hell-raising hot sauce of your own, bring it along and enter it into the Homemade Hot Sauce Competition to see how it stacks up amongst the rest.
So gather some of your cheeky chilli-lovin’ friends and spice up your life by grabbing a ticket to this special event.
