Here’s a round-up of the foodie news you need to know this week.
Aqua S New Flavour
It’s the first week of the month and we all know what that means: Aqua S have their new line-up of flavours. Say goodbye to the honey lavender and banana milkshake and welcome red velvet and royal milk tea. Either have them on their own or mix it in with their signature sea salt soft serve to elevate the flavours.
Major Sprout Student Discount
To all the stressed-out students, treat yourself this holiday to a feed at one of Auckland’s top cafés, Major Sprout. They’re giving a 20% discount for all students with an I.D and this includes both high school and university students. Whatever you do, don’t walk out without experiencing the open souvlaki—it’s a new addition to their menu and it’s a killer.
Andiamo Restaurant And Bar Is Re-Opening
Yup, you heard that right. The Ponsonby institution Andiamo Restaurant & Bar is being resurrected by the owners of Soul Bar & Bistro and Jervois Steak House. This Italian institution is set to re-open their doors from mid-November and we would like to take a moment and say, welcome back Andiamo!
Street Kai On Takutai
The foodie event we’ve all been waiting for, Street Kai on Takutai is finally happening this week on Thursday from 11am until 9pm on Takutai Square in Briotmart. This all day festival will feature the best food trucks and stalls Auckland has to offer including Judge Bao, Peach’s Hot Chicken and Wise Boy Burgers. Top eateries like Miann, Mexico, Ebisu and Orleans will also be showing us something special for this day.
Lillet X Soul Bar
The team at Soul Bar have joined forces with Lillet to create a Lillet Spritz menu for cocktail lovers. The menu will feature next level drinks with pots of fruit, florals and herbs so they’re not just tasty but also Instagrammable. To make it even better, for each Lillet Spritz cocktail you drink, you go into the draw to win one of four giveaways worth $1000. We’re talking top designer pieces from Yu Mei, Paris Georgia, Muse Boutique and KW Footwear.
The Chivas Club
After selling out last year, The Chivas Club is popping up at a secret location in downtown Auckland for one night only—11 October. This pop-up is also celebrating the launch of Chivas XV, we are sure this year’s event will will be even better. Get your tickets to this night of food, world-class whisky and live entertainment asap!
Han Restaurant in Parnell is holding a pop-up restaurant for the month of October from each Tuesday. Little Han showcases the street food of South Korea in the best shape, form and quality. We’re talking Korean fried chicken and beef galbi short rib tacos. Little Han's head chef, Min, once owned a food truck, so we know this is going to be a banger.
Seedlip | Grove 42
Seedlip has just launched their third expression, Grove 42 of no alcohol, no sugar gin. The flavours are citrusy with a blend of orange, mandarin, lemongrass, lemon, ginger and blood orange. It's perfect for the warmer days approaching because nothing screams summer more than fruity, citrusy cocktails. International Vodka Day With Belvedere
It's International Vodka Day on October 4 and what better way to celebrate than some quality spirits from Belvedere Vodka?
