Five Smashing Things To Do This Week In Auckland

You’re in the most wonderful city in the world (there, we said it) so don’t you wait 'til the weekend to have fun. There are festivals to enjoy, movies to watch and burgers to devour! It seems like we’re finally getting the summer we deserve—there’s no time to waste.

Auckland is packed with fabulous events for you to enjoy all week long:

Festival Goodness

It's the last week of Auckland Arts Festival so if you haven’t made it here yet, make plans to ASAP! This is the buzzing hub of AAF, and it’s got the good stuff all day err’day. What ‘good stuff’, you ask? From ticket sales to shows and food stalls to a free music stage and a chilled out garden bar, you best be getting here as soon as you clock out of work—or even for a lunch time chill.

What: Festival Garden

When: Wednesday 8 March—Sunday 26 March

Burgers And Lurrrrve

If you didn’t know already, Sweat Shop Brew Bar does some absolutely mouth-watering burgers. And what’s the perfect match to the perfect burger? A fun date! Meet your soul mate at this event for 25 to 34 year old singles and you’ll know if they’re The One, cause if they can’t handle you at your burger-eating mess, they don’t deserve you at your salad-eating best #word. Your ticket includes a burger of your choice (we’re talking pulled pork, grilled brisket, buffalo chicken and MORE), fries, and a chance to show off your 10/10 banter.

What: Burger Date for Singles
Where: Sweat Shop Brew Bar, Freeman’s Bay
When: Tuesday 21 March

Weeknight Film Night!

We can’t get past some good ol’ Kiwi humour, and this one’s sure to relieve any weekday blues. Struggling real estate agent Gary Vasisi takes the opportunity take over his father’s role and becomes a chief of a small, sinking island in the Pacific. Let’s just say, Gary doesn’t always make the right decisions… and gets himself stuck in way too many pickles. Starring men in bras, a small pig, and Spandex that’s a little too tight, it’ll be sure to have you in stitches!

What: Gary of the Pacific
Where: Hawkins Theatre, Papakura
When: Tuesday 21 March

Get Scent-Sational

Ever smelled a perfume and wanted a little more this or a little less that? Now, you can make one to exactly how you please! This is a two-hour workshop of all-natural perfumery—you’ll be exposed to a scent lab and a sensory garden tour, and bottling and design of your perfect scent! No doubt everyone will be asking “what perfume are you wearing?”, and little do they know—it’s your very own!

What: Perfume Playground Club
Where: Studio One Toi Tu, Ponsonby
When: Thursday 23 March
