Five Things To Do In Auckland This Week

With the second half of the year officially under way, many of us have taken time to reflect on those resolutions we set. Get fitter? Make more friends? Learn to cook? Much kudos to you if you’ve had some success with these, but word on the street is we’re all at a loss as to where the year has gone! Meaning those resolutions haven’t quite worked out as hoped…

Don’t fret though friends. We’ve got your guide to all the activities and events on throughout the week to ensure your second half of the year marks an absolute banger! Its time to get social, get active and get accomplished.

Tone Up

Make this week a banger by taking an hour out of your day to smash out a Pilates class. Monday’s set the tone for the rest of the day so make sure you’re ticking off that to-do list and looking after yourself. End work an hour early and stretch, tone and work your booty! Something you’ll thank yourself for when summer sneakily creeps up on us when we’re not ready — how does it always do that? What’s best, your first class is free of charge thanks to this Western Springs pop-up. Be sure to book a spot on the mat as this is sure to fill up fast.

What: Free Pilates class
Where: TAPAC, 100 Motions Rd, Western Springs, Auckland, 1022
When: Monday 10 July

Pretend You’re French

Take a French-inspired Tuesday, dining on delectable food, sipping delicate wine and relaxing to a French film. L’Assiette in Britomart is hosting this movie night to celebrate Bastille Day so lucky for us, we get to enjoy an evening of luxury. The flick of choice is no other than ‘2 Days in Paris’ and the three course set menu finishes with… you guessed it, creme brulee! Grab your partner and head along for a date night or persuade your bestie to a night of delicacies.

What: French evening at L’assiette
Where: 9 Britomart Place, Britomart, Auckland, 1010

Get Creative

If you’re not feeling all that Parisian, head along to Newmarket’s Wise Cicada and learn how to make a cafe-style smoothie bowl. We’re talking all the finest ingredients that our pantries long for, from the best granolas, chia seeds and superfood powders. Although this is part of the cafe’s school holiday programme, don’t hesitate to come along if you’re interested (and who’s not interested in making an epic smoothie bowl?)

Drink Like An Italian

Chilled Peroni alongside the finest finger food you can get your hands on—or as the Italian’s call it, an Aperitivo. Your Thursday nights just got a whole lot more social with Ponsonby’s Farina Restaurant. Italian’s believe the magic of finger food is bringing people together. You both reach for that mini sausage roll? It’d be rude not to introduce yourself. Alongside live music from your favourite local DJ’s, this is the perfect way to begin unwinding into the weekend (even if it is a day early).
