It really is Christmas crunch time. However, rather than getting into a frenzy of Christmas shopping panic, why not enjoy some great Auckland events this weekend? From festive mini golf to foodie markets and the country’s biggest yoga class, there’s something to keep everyone’s nerves in check.

Deck The Holes | Lilliputt Minigolf

Who doesn’t love a spot of mini golf?! Non-profit performing arts organisation, Light Up The Holidays, has joined forces with Lilliputt Mini Golf to bring four evenings of festive mini golf. There will be fairy lights, live entertainment, Mexican fare, and even a visit from the man in red himself. The aim is to raise $10,000 for mental health charity, Live More Awesome, so bring your best putting game and get behind this awesome cause. More info here

Forest In Silo6 By Angus Muir Design | Silo6, Silo Park

Experience the magic of Christmas in a silo this weekend. Hidden within Silo6 is a magical forest full of Christmas trees created by design company, Angus Muir Design. Head down there and support the Auckland City Mission and their Become Someone’s Angel appeal. 

Coca-Cola Urban Beach | The Cloud, Queens Wharf

A beach in the middle of the concrete jungle? Yep, over 100 tonnes of sand has been dropped on Queens Wharf to create Coca-Cola Urban Beach! With a makeshift volleyball court, free concerts, and plenty of bean bags to lounge on, this beach pop-up is worth checking out. There will be some of Auckland’s best food trucks including Double Dutch Fries, Kraken Crumpets, and Rock Dogs. The beach will be open ‘til 23rd December so get down there. 

Thursday 17th December

The Lady Killers & Michele A’Court | Q Theatre

Music and girl power collides in this diva-filled evening. Watch as award-winning comedian, Michele A’Court takes to the stage with two of the country’s top singers, Jackie Clarke and Suzanna Lynch for a journey through music history. From gospel and R&B to power pop and rock, these ladies will wow with their powerful performance and will be sure to get you dancing in your seat. Get your tickets here

Auckland Night Markets | Sylvia Park 

Anyone who’s fond of food in Auckland will be a fan of the Auckland Night Markets. And now, this popular foodie destination has made its way to Sylvia Park. Hustle the family or flatties and prepare to eat your way around the globe. Whether you’re into dumplings, kebabs, noodles or doughnuts, there’s something for everyone at this food-filled market. Go see what all the fuss is about. 

Dancing In The Park | Auckland Domain

Boogy as the sun goes down at tonight’s Dancing In The Park. Auckland’s fire dancers will be putting on a spectacular show in Auckland Domain, where you can bring a picnic and settle down to watch the action—or do a bit of dancing yourself!

Friday 18th December

Silo Cinema Presents Gremlins | Silo Park

Get ready to be spooked because this creepy Christmas classic will be screening at Silo Park this Friday. Make your way around the Silo Markets and stock up on some food before sitting down to watch Gremlins, the story of pesky green monsters wreaking havoc during the festive season. 

Saturday 19th December

The Breakfast Club Presents The Heineken Spring Seasoning | The Britomart Country Club

The Breakfast Club are taking over Britomart Country Club this Saturday with local music talent for the Heineken Spring Seasoning. BBC lovers will be treated to something a bit different from DJ Tyler Christie, music producers Tim Phin and TROSKEY. Start your summer right and be part of one of this weekend’s best events. 

Christmas Rides | Rainbow’s End

All the rides at Rainbow’s End will be open this Saturday for an evening of festive thrills. With live entertainment from The Mermaids, Christmas Rides is set to be an awesome night out for the family. 

Victoria Park Markets | Victoria Park Market

If you’re yet to check out this legendary outdoor market, now is the time to do it. You’ll be treated to all sorts of crafts, fashion, foodie goodies and great music. Don’t miss Victoria Park Market Christmas Night Market on 23rd December, which will celebrate the end of the year. Tom Tom Bar & Eatery will be setting up a bar downstairs, and Rogue Society Gin and Bootleggers Craft Soda will be mixing up cocktails.  

Sunday 20th December

New Zealand’s Biggest Outdoor Yoga Class | Auckland Domain

Unleash your inner yogi and take part in New Zealand’s Biggest Outdoor Yoga Class this Sunday. True North is hosting a mammoth class in Auckland Domain, where thousands of people will gather for an afternoon of yoga. There will be good vibes a’plenty and the $5 entry fees will be going towards Emergency Transformation Centre to provide free workshops and support for struggling Kiwis.

General Collective Christmas Market | Ponsonby Central 

The Sapphire Room in Ponsonby Central will be transformed into a Christmas market this Sunday. The General Collective Christimas Market is bringing together over 35 hand picked stores selling everything from stocking fillers to skincare, candles, homewares and much more. Finish off last minute present shoppings before popping down for ramen, burgers or a pizza in Ponsonby Central. Sounds like the perfect Sunday to us! 

Sol3 Mio Christmas In The Vines | Villa Maria Estate
