We’ve all been there, you’ve worked hard all week and have your heart set on the perfect night in, your food is on the way but what’s this? No red to accompany the next-level Italian that’s winging itself to you? You’re in a tight spot, that’s for sure.
Well fret no longer friends, Uber Eats have just announced that they’re now able to deliver alcohol for all your last-minute emergencies. Be it the above scenario or your in-laws are coming over and you don’t have the requisite cointreau for your MIL’s aperitif, the legends at Uber Eats have just launched a service that will save your bacon.
Starting from today in Auckland and with Wellington and Christchurch following soon, you can now order beers, wines and spirits from over 30 local bottle shops and have it delivered direct to your door. How good.
However, there are a few caveats worth mentioning. There are limits as to the amount of alcohol you can order, you must present legal ID when taking possession of the alcohol and it won’t be handed over to those who are visibly intoxicated, so no re-ups for that house party that’s getting loose. Also, Uber Eats appreciates that for some people alcohol can be a trigger, so you can ask to be excluded from accessing alcohol ordering and from marketing emails.
So there you have it, next time you’re in a bind and you can’t get to your local bottle shop (which we heartily recommend you do in order to support your local), you can count on Uber Eats to see you right.
