Singapore isn’t short on creativity. It’s everywhere, from the grand museums housing Southeast Asia’s most important collections to indie shophouse studios, photography hubs, and even streets that double as open-air galleries.

Whether you’re in the mood to wander through blockbuster exhibitions, hunt down emerging local artists, or roll up your sleeves at a hands-on art jam, the city has something to feed your inner creative. Here’s our guide to the best art galleries and creative spaces in Singapore that should be on your radar.

Art Galleries/Museums in Singapore

National Gallery Singapore

If there’s one place that anchors Singapore’s art scene, it’s this grand museum housed in the former Supreme Court and City Hall. In 2020, National Gallery was the only museum in Southeast Asia to land a spot in The Art Newspaper’s annual global survey of attendance at art museums, taking 20th place. Boasting the largest collection of Singapore and Southeast Asian modern art, the iconic building is in the centre of the Civic District and fosters an inclusive and incredibly inspiring mix of art mediums and exhibitions. The museum is currently undergoing a revamp of its dining spots, and soon it'll be worth a full day's visit more than ever.

ArtScience Museum

6 Bayfront Avenue

Shaped like a lotus and perched right by Marina Bay Sands, the ArtScience Museum icon is all about blurring the lines between art, science, design, and tech. From the Insta-famous Future World digital installations by teamLab to rotating exhibitions on space, AI, and cinema, ArtScience makes art interactive, futuristic, and endlessly photogenic.

Singapore Art Museum (SAM)

39 Keppel Road

Back with a sleek new look, SAM continues to champion contemporary art from Singapore and beyond. Expect experimental installations, video art, and site-specific commissions that often spill out into public spaces, cementing SAM as the place for thought-provoking, boundary-pushing works.

By Fable

Singapore-born artist Elizabeth Marlow has given us another reason to hop down to Sentosa. Her monochrome art studio, By Fable, has officially landed its first permanent gallery at WEAVE, Resorts World Sentosa. The sleek new space pulls you into three strands of her practice: Groundfire (2025), where ink, texture and even coffee collide on canvas to spark warmth and energy; Fluidity (2024), a meditative series that dives deep into the rhythms of water; and a line of Singapore-inspired prints that take familiar landmarks, botanics, cocktails and more, stripping them back in striking black and white.

Beyond the walls, Marlow is also opening her world up with intimate evening workshops right in the gallery. There's guided ink illustration sessions that run once a month (25 September, 29 October and 13 November 2025, 6.30pm to 9pm, $180 per person). Whether you’re here to add a bold new piece to your collection or just want to roll up your sleeves and play with ink, this new creative hub is the one to bookmark.

Mulan Gallery

Tucked in the heritage district, this independent gallery leans into contemporary works with a focus on painting, sculpture, and mixed media. Mulan Gallery also spotlights emerging local artists alongside international names, making it a treasure trove for collectors who want something off the mainstream track.

Bruno Gallery

Bruno Gallery Singapore is part of the internationally recognised Bruno Art Group, a collective that’s been shaping the global art scene for over a century. With roots in Europe and a legacy tied to art movements like Kinetic, Pop and Dada, the gallery has been bringing the same flair to Singapore, representing heavyweights like Charles Fazzino, David Gerstein, Mr. Brainwash and Romero Britto.

This September, the space unveiled The Unbelievable Island of Singapore at 60, a dazzling new collection by American pop artist Charles Fazzino created to mark the nation’s 60th birthday. The 120 limited-edition 3D artworks come in two versions: a Day Edition full of lush greenery and everyday vibrance, and a Night Edition that spotlights the city’s skyline and nightlife, complete with Swarovski crystal fireworks. It follows the runaway success of his SG50 tribute back in 2015, cementing Bruno Gallery’s place as a hub for vibrant, collectible contemporary art in the region.

Yavuz Gallery

9 Lock Road, Gillman Barracks

Founded in Singapore but global in its reach, Yavuz Gallery has built a rep for representing socially engaged artists from Asia-Pacific and beyond. Expect exhibitions that are sharp, politically charged, and often conversation starters in themselves.

Fost Gallery

Another Gillman Barracks gem, Fost Gallery champions Southeast Asian contemporary art with a focus on conceptual practices. With artists like Heman Chong and Donna Ong on its roster, this is the space for cerebral, critically acclaimed shows.

DECK

120A Prinsep Street

Once a stack of shipping containers, DECK is now fundraising to build a permanent arts centre for photography. It's previous iterations is part gallery, part library, part incubator for visual culture, and its programming always champions bold, emerging voices in lens-based art. Watch out for this Singapore’s dedicated space for photography and contribute to the non-profit organisation here.

Craft Studios

Motion Art Space

Here’s where you get hands-on. Motion Art Space lets you play with pendulum painting. Basically you swing paint across canvas to create abstract works that are as fun as they are frame-worthy. Perfect for date nights, group hangs, or letting your inner Pollock loose.

Beadbadwolf

22 Lim Tua Tow Road

Half creative studio, half event space, this indie nook in Serangoon is a haven for design, zines, and offbeat workshops. It’s where Singapore’s underground creative community gathers for intimate gigs, pop-ups, and good old-fashioned making. Leave with great vibes and accessories you can make from the workshop, from bags to coasters.

Splat Paint House

207a Upper Thomson Rd

Don’t just leave the masterpieces up to the artists, create your own unique, messy fun at Singapore’s only immersive splatter paint studio, Splat Paint House. Here, you can leave all your rules, worries and stress at the door because all you need is your imagination, creativity and sense of fun. In a nutshell, it’s playing with paint. Channel your inner child and let loose as you get splat-happy in the most kaleidoscopic paint room you’ll ever see.

Streets filled with art in Singapore

Haji Lane, Bugis

Street art, indie boutiques, hole-in-the-wall bars and more: Haji Lane is practically an open-air gallery. Murals splash across shophouse walls, while upstairs studios host rotating exhibitions, making this stretch a must for anyone chasing Singapore’s indie creative energy.

Katong, East Coast Road

Katong’s Peranakan shophouses are works of art in themselves, but you’ll also find pottery studios, indie galleries, and design shops tucked between the laksa joints. It’s where heritage meets a growing creative scene, perfect for a culture-meets-foodie day out.

Chinatown, around Keong Saik and Ann Siang

Once a district of clan associations and dive bars, Chinatown’s shophouses now brim with creative studios, indie galleries, and cool concept stores. Keep an eye out for street art along the alleys, and pop into the hidden creative spaces upstairs—you’ll find everything from tattoo studios to art collectives.
