At first glance, Singapore might appear to be all about the hustle and bustle, but all that go-go-go is balanced out with an extremely healthy wellness scene.

Whether it’s in the form of yoga, mindfulness and sound healing or massages, onsens and plant-based cafes, there’s a wellness experience fit for any occasion and budget. Rebalance your mind, body and soul at the best wellness spots in Singapore.

COMO Shambhala Urban Escape

The COMO Shambhala Urban Escape is the ultimate wellness destination in Singapore. From yoga and pilates to massages and facials, you can take single classes or enrol in one of the many workshops on offer. The GYROTONIC classes sound perfect for anyone keen to increase their mobility, while the restorative yoga and sound healing class will help to calm busy minds. There are a range of different therapies on offer, from traditional counselling through to mindfulness-based movement and art therapy. And because wellness isn’t just about what we do on the outside, there’s even a naturopath and nutritionist on-site, as well as a traditional Chinese medicine physician. Complete any COMO Shambhala experience with a massage and you’ll be floating out of there refreshed and renewed.

Yunomori Onsen & Spa

Soak away your stress at Yunomori Onsen & Spa where you can take your pick of the baths on offer, or hop from one to the next in a relaxed stupor. From the jet bath which is ideal for aches and pains and the carbon dioxide-rich soda bath which boosts blood oxygen levels, to the tiny, cleansing bubbles of the silk bath and the chilly 17 degree cold bath which stimulates energy, Yunomori has all wellness bases covered. A $38 all day pass includes steam and sauna access, a towel and a yukata, as well as access to the relaxation lounge, which leaves you with enough dosh for a post bath massage.

Aramsa—The Garden Spa

Fittingly set within a national park, Aramsa—The Garden Spa is an oasis of pampering. All 17 of the treatment rooms have private garden courtyards with an outdoor shower or bath. While you can stop by for a single treatment, the 150 minute spa packages are where it’s at if you want to achieve peak relaxation. The Tropical Java Lulur is a treatment fit for a queen (the ritual was originally designed for Indonesian royalty) and includes a turmeric and rice exfoliation, skin nourishing oat wrap and Aramsa touch massage followed by an outdoor garden bath. If you’re not a fan of the post-spa greasy hair look you can book in at the on site hair salon or if you care to level up the wellness experience you can sign up for a yoga class amidst the gardens.

Skyline Aqua

Working out and working up a sweat is one thing but doing it while floating on water is another. Enter Skyline Aqua, Singapore’s lush city-skyline pool that’s home to a number of float classes, like FloatFit HIIT and FloatFit Yoga. Promoting a meditative yet intense workout that boosts mental wellbeing, core strength and balance, Skyline Aqua is a unique wellness centre to try in Singapore. And the best bit? Once you’ve worked up a sweat, you simply jump in the pool to cool off.

Palm Ave Float Club

Perched above the treetops of Kallang Riverside Park, Palm Ave Float Club is the perfect antidote for a busy mind and tired body. Their sensory deprivation floatation tanks are set to 34.5 degrees and are filled with a whopping 600kg of epsom salts to keep you buoyant—you’ll feel like you’re floating on a body temperature cloud. The magnesium in the epsom salts not only allows you to float, but it aids in muscle recovery and can help you get a better night’s sleep too. Relaxing music guides you in and out of the one-hour float session and there’s absolutely nothing in between to get in the way of your zen time. Post float you can kick back in the relaxation lounge with a warm cup of tea.

Trapeze Rec. Club

If you’re going to join any club, make it Trapeze Rec. Club. Housing a yoga studio, gymnasium, cafe, reflexology lounge, sauna, rec rooms and an outdoor plunge pool, this one-stop-wellness-shop is dedicated to making people feel their best. Housed in a pre-war art deco shophouse, Trapeze Rec. Club is set over multiple levels and has been designed with relaxation in mind (think pale wood, creamy white walls and calming lighting). Memberships offer discounts on yoga, fitness classes, mental wellbeing sessions, reflexology and personal training, but you can also drop in. Canteen, the cafe downstairs, serves up a healthy dose of Ayurvedic smoothies, sweet and savoury yoghurt bowls, caffeine hits and acai bowls.

The Living Cafe

With a predominantly raw and plant based menu that’s free from red meat, dairy, preservatives and refined sugar, The Living Cafe is where you go when you want to feel good from the inside out. From zucchini lasagne and pesto noodles to maple toasted granola and tempeh Buddha bowls, The Living Cafe has you covered on the superfood front. You’ll definitely want to save room for the healthy desserts with options like tiramisu, lemon pistachio tart and carrot cake on the table. There are loads of feel-good smoothies and juices, as well as adaptogenic cacao lattes, vegan bulletproof coffee and all the regular dairy-free coffee hits. After filling your tummy with delicious wholefoods you can fill your reusable shopping bag with all kinds of vegan delights from The Living Pantry.

Banyan Tree Spa

Hit floor 55 in the Marina Bay Sands elevator and you’ll zoom up to the wellness haven that is Banyan Tree Spa. With sweeping views of the bay below, each Banyan Tree Spa therapist undergoes 650 hours of training so you can be assured you’re getting the best of the best treatments. If you’re going all out with a visit to Marina Bay you may as well go for the Harmony Banyan package. While on the pricey side, you’ll get to kick back in a steam bath before enjoying a refreshing orchid body scrub and massage. Then you’ll break (because pampering is hard work, obviously) for a calming bath and refreshments, before diving back in with a facial and a hand or foot treatment.

Spa Esprit

Apothocary zen den Spa Esprit is shaking up your standard massage experience with their Super Vibrator package. The vibe is a little edgier than a typical pamper sesh, with jeweled tones, wall murals and poppy artwork dotted around the room, but the experience is sure to take you to all new levels of bliss. First a special device called an Emotional Positioning System reads your energy and tracks where there are potential weaknesses. Based off of that reading you’ll be prescribed a customised essential oil blend which your therapist will apply during a 90-minute Hawaiian style Lomi Lomi massage. You’ll then be coaxed into a meditative state with sounds from Tingsha cymbals and the Tibetan singing bowl. After you float out of your treatment room you can purchase your customised essential oil blend as a shower gel as well as a crystal to continue balancing your energy on your homeward journey.

g.spa

If you’re having trouble sleeping, hop out of bed and scurry down to g.spa, a 24 hour nature inspired retreat for the senses. Soak and sweat away your stress in the hot pool, steam room and sauna (or jolt yourself awake in the cold pool) before handing yourself over to the g.spa therapists for a pamper sesh. From Chinese meridian therapy, cupping and gua sha treatments to deep tissue massage, reflexology and facials, they’ve got all bases covered. If you’re looking to try something a little different opt for the hot stone spa, where you lie on a bed of hot stones and sweat away your toxins. Even the on site rainforest themed cafe is open 24/7 so you don’t have to worry if hunger strikes post 3am massage.

Remède Spa

There are plenty of great options on the table at St. Regis’ Remède Spa, but the Black Soap and Rassoul Hammam Ritual is pretty hard to beat for its uniqueness alone. After a eucalyptus-scented steam your therapist will scrub you down with black soap and you’ll head back to the steam chambers to allow the soap's detoxification properties to set in. Then it’s time for the scrub to be rinsed off under the vichy shower before a purifying rassoul clay mask is applied. While the mask does its magic you’ll be treated to an argan oil face and scalp massage. Once you’ve showered off you’re free to enjoy the eucalyptus-scented steam chambers, spa garden and aqua reflexology footpath.

Whole Earth

As they say, health and wellness start from within and Singapore’s first and only Peranakan-Thai plant-based restaurant Whole Earth will not only leave you satisfied but glowing from the inside out too. Boasting the freshest ingredients, Whole Earth serves up tasty, nutritious dishes like hand-rolled honey lotus roots, steamed shiitake mushrooms and silky ‘harmony’ tofu—cooked to authentic Peranakan and Thai perfection. But don’t just take our word for it, Whole Earth has raked in the awards and is the only plant-based restaurant to be awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand four years in a row.

Sifr Aromatics

Wellness comes in all shapes and sizes, and aromatics can play a big role in holistic wellness and feeling good. If you’re looking to find a scent or smell that’s right for you, Sifr Aromatics is where it’s at. An independent home-grown niche perfume shop specialising in custom perfume blends and natural essential oils intended to lift and relax your spirits, this unique hidden treasure is the perfect place to pick up a few oils and candles as gifts and treats for yourself.
