After six years of pop-ups and cult sandwich drops, Between Buns Deli has officially found a permanent home in Singapore’s CBD. Helmed by Ahmir Arshad and backed by PleasureCraft Group (the names behind Marcy’s, Maggie’s and Parliament Bar), the “new school” deli has opened its doors at SBF Center on Robinson Road, bringing its signature high-impact, no-nonsense eats to the weekday lunch crowd.

Designed for the way we eat now (fast, satisfying, but still considered), the space swaps pop-up scrappiness for a bright, airy flagship with soaring ceilings and a punchy, high-energy fit-out. It’s a deliberate evolution for the brand, moving from transient to rooted, while keeping its focus on bold flavours and serious texture.

At the core of the menu is a tight lineup of sandwiches built on four distinct breads (sourdough, schiacciata, brioche and hoagie rolls) each chosen to dial up crunch, heft or softness depending on the filling. The OG Fried Chicken Sandwich ($16) still leads the charge with its golden crunch and punchy layers, while heavier hitters like the 24-hour braised Oxtail Melt ($23) and the French Dip ($20) bring depth and indulgence. Even the Tuna Melt ($14) gets a glow-up with a subtle chilli kick.

Mornings kick off with options like the Chicken Sausage and Egg Muffin ($13), while the Egg Bhurjee Wrap ($12) offers a spiced, meat-free alternative that doesn’t hold back. Beyond buns, there’s a solid lineup of chef-driven salads (think broccolini and avocado with blue cheese dressing, or chicken and cauliflower with spicy tahini and a cheeky Doritos crunch) plus bakes and desserts including sticky toffee pudding and hefty double chip cookies.

Behind the scenes, precision is key. Sandwiches are pressed on Italian Spidocook glass-ceramic griddles for that perfect, even crunch, while the space itself, designed with Kii.Workshop, leans into natural materials and unexpected finishes for a look that feels both functional and quietly playful. The result? A CBD lunch spot that hits hard on flavour, moves fast, and makes a convincing case for turning your midday meal into a daily ritual.
