Sentosa Is Getting A Massive Glow-Up With New Beaches, Attractions And An Island Expansion
Sentosa Development Corporation has unveiled its long-term vision for the Greater Sentosa Master Plan, an ambitious project that will see Sentosa expand to include Pulau Brani, creating new attractions, hotels, nature experiences and lifestyle precincts over the next two decades. When complete, the expanded destination is expected to welcome twice as many visitors as Sentosa does today.
The plans go well beyond adding a few new attractions. Among the biggest reveals are a series of new landmarks, including the Imbiah Canopy, a hilltop destination packed with dining, retail and attractions, plus the Imbiah Lookout Walk-a sheltered elevated trail linking Sensoryscape with Mount Imbiah's forest walks. Down by the waterfront, a new beachfront destination called Sensorium is also in the works, designed as a hub for indoor attractions, events and festivals alongside lush green spaces.

Sentosa's iconic beaches are also getting a rethink. Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong Beach will be refreshed with new lifestyle concepts, beach clubs and all-day hangout spaces, while an ambitious islet-hopping experience featuring floating boardwalks will let visitors explore the coastline in an entirely new way. Sunrise and sunset-focused beach clubs, treetop dining and expanded coastal experiences are also being explored as part of the island's next chapter.
Getting around should become much easier too. Plans include a new Island Heart Transport Hub that will act as the main gateway into Greater Sentosa, alongside a People Mover System set to replace the existing Sentosa Express. New water taxi services, enhanced cable car connections and improved waterfront links are also being studied, making the journey just as much a part of the experience as the destination itself.
While much of the transformation won't begin opening until the early 2030s, Singaporeans can get an early glimpse of what's to come at the free Your Island. Reimagined. exhibition. The interactive showcase is currently touring the island and heartland malls, giving you the chance to explore the vision for Greater Sentosa and have your say on what the future of Singapore's island playground should look like.
