The 50 Best Restaurants 2026 rankings are out, and Singapore’s Odette has scored a major win, jumping from No. 25 to No. 15 in the global countdown. But it’s not the only Asian restaurant making headlines, with Bangkok, Hong Kong, Seoul, Shanghai and Mumbai all securing spots in this year’s top 50. In total, 14 restaurants from across Asia made the cut, putting the region firmly in the global dining spotlight.

Announced in Lima, Peru, on 4 November, the rankings saw Spain’s Asador Etxebarri take out the coveted No. 1 position. For Singapore, Odette was the standout, with the French fine-dining restaurant at National Gallery Singapore remaining the city’s sole representative in the top 50. There’s more good news for the team, too, with head sommelier Lesley Liu taking home the Best Sommelier Award 2026.

Singapore also featured in the extended 51-100 rankings, with Seroja making an impressive debut at No. 64, Burnt Ends climbing four places to No. 89 and Restaurant Labyrinth landing at No. 98. Elsewhere in Asia, Bangkok was one of the biggest winners, with five restaurants making the top 50. Gaggan led the charge at No. 2, followed by Sorn at No. 12, Sühring at No. 14, Nusara at No. 18 and Potong at No. 32.

Hong Kong also had plenty to celebrate, with Wing taking No. 5 and The Chairman at No. 6, giving the city two restaurants in the top 10. Seoul’s Mingles ranked No. 17, Shanghai’s Meet the Bund made a huge leap to No. 21, while Mumbai’s Masque landed at No. 26. Other notable Asian entries included Hangzhou’s Ru Yuan at No. 36, Seoul’s Onjium at No. 41 and India’s Naar at No. 49, which also picked up the Sustainable Restaurant Award. Not a bad year for dining in our part of the world.
