Get Ready To Feast At This Month’s Epic Hinterland Street Food Festival

The Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival has released details of their epic street food lineup and our mouths are watering. Back for its fourth year, this intimate foodie festival will be dishing up the goods at Spicers Tamarind Retreat in Maleny this February.

Wander from stall to stall and you’ll spend the afternoon feasting on melt-in-your-mouth Korean burgers with bulgogi braised brisket, brioche bun, American cheese, pickles, mustard, mayo or crispy fried chicken ribs doused with black pepper and ginger caramel. Drooling yet?

While food is the main drawcard, an impressive drinks list will help you pause between tastings, with wine and champagne offered from family owned Brockenchack Winery based in Barossa’s Eden Valley, along with gin and vodka from local favourite Fortune Distillery.

And, if you feel the need to stretch the brain cells while you treat the taste buds, there’s also cooking demonstrations hosted by The Tamarind’s talented chefs and a Riesling masterclass hosted by Spicers Group’s wine guru.

Festival passes include five food tickets (one for each of the food stalls) and two beverage tickets, so you won’t have to pull out your wallet all afternoon long. Genius.

We recommend you bring your own picnic blanket and sprawl out on the slopes of the grassed amphitheater. It’s quite possible this is the most relaxing food event of the year.
