Foodies converge, Brisbane’s biggest—and best—culinary event returns this winter and trust us when we say it's serving up its most heavenly offering yet. For the uninitiated, Dine BNE City is a month-long festival celebrating Brisbane CBD’s epic gastronomic offerings with a series of exclusive (read: bucket list worthy) dining experiences.
Celebrating its fifth year and running from 1–30 June (we’ve never been more excited for the temp to drop), Dine BNE City will feature a stacked roster of degustation dinners, wine trails, cooking masterclasses and supper clubs, kicking off with their iconic Fireside event.
Taking place on Friday 30 May within the enchanting Grounds of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Fireside will take your tastebuds on a decadent journey with dishes and tipples from Brisbane’s most celebrated venues.
This year, Doughcraft is joining the festivities, where you'll find sausage, mushroom and taleggio risotto and frittura di calamari with rocket salad and vegan mayonnaise. Mediterranean faves Dark Shepard will also be there, serving up prawn saganaki and lamb souvlaki. A range of drinks will also be on offer, with The Lounge by Club Felix shaking things up with specialty cocktails like the Inflorescence—a unique mix of fig-infused Johnnie Walker, vanilla and allspice—and the Conundrum, made from vodka, strawberries, ruby port and yuzu.
While you dine under the stars, you’ll be treated to a full sensory experience with performances from talented local musos and DJs setting the scene for a truly special night.
Tickets to Fireside are $140 and will give guests a tantalising taste of what to expect for the rest of Dine BNE City's mouth-watering program. There are 60 incredible venues to feast your way through this year, including faves like Donna Chang (we’re drooling just thinking about the lobster roll), Opa Bar + Mezze, The Gresham, Patina at Customs House, Walter’s Steakhouse and Rothwells.
And if you’ve been wanting to try some of the CBD’s tastiest newbies, now's your chance, with Mulga Bill’s, Luc Lac, and The Brasserie at Naldham House (plus loads more), all confirmed in the stellar line-up.
The drinks will flow throughout the festival too, to be sipped at the likes of Trove Cocktail Bar, cocktail and champagne lounge Club Felix and microbrewery Little Miss Sunshine. Yep, your social calendar is about to fill up.
