The Hottest Sunshine Coast New Year’s Eve Events To Ring In 2024

Pop the champas, fill the flutes and woo those arms—we’re ready to say goodbye to yet another raging dumpster fire of a year that was 2023 and usher in a hopefully better 2024. 

So dust off your dancing shoes and check out these themed festivities, swanky seaside sippers and fireworks displays. Here are some fantastic Sunshine Coast's New Year’s Eve events you need to check out in 2023.

Caloundra Fireworks

Kings Beach Amphitheatre

The Caloundra NYE Celebrations are back for 2023, kicking off at 4pm with live music in the Kings Beach Amphitheatre. Bring a picnic blanket and relax to the sounds of Duende, Carl Wockner and Buttermello. 

There will be plenty to keep the whole family entertained including carnival rides, face painting and a very special movie screening of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Pack a picnic or enjoy delicious street food and at 9:30pm a spectacular fireworks display over Kings Beach will provide the finale to the NYE festivities in Caloundra. More information here.

Mooloolaba Fireworks

Mooloolaba Esplanade

One of the Sunshine Coast's most popular fireworks locations, there will be live music, kids entertainment, face painters, food and market stalls from 5pm on the Mooloolaba Esplanade. There will be live DJs on the beach stage from 7pm and fireworks displays at 8:30pm and midnight. More information here.

Coolum Fireworks

Coolum Beach

There will be a vibrant fireworks display on Coolum Beach near Tickle Park at 8:30pm. This is a perfect choice if you want to be in bed early on New Year's Eve, or hit one of Coolum's bustling restaurants afterwards for some beverages. More information here.

New Year's Eve Party At WAT Den

This New Year’s Eve, welcome in 2024 with elegantly crafted cocktails, top-tier food and front row seats to the iconic Mooloolaba fireworks at the Sunshine Coast’s only specialised spirits bar, WAT Den.

Ride Into The New Year At Aussie World

Perhaps one of the most exhilarating ways to end 2023, you can ride into the New Year—literally—at Aussie World.

The park will open during the evening and will be jam-packed with night rides, music, food, entertainers and an impressive fireworks display at 8:45pm to top it off. Pro tip: make sure you don’t indulge into too many NYE drinks before embarking on the rides.
