The Sunshine Coast is quickly earning its place among Australia’s best food destinations, celebrated for its vibrant culinary scene and passionate producers. This slice of coastal paradise is packed with award-winning producers, boundary-pushing chefs, and a serious obsession with local, top-notch ingredients. The result? A food scene dishing up flavour bombs you’ll be dreaming about long after the last bite.
Speaking of, The Curated Plate is returning to the Sunshine Coast with an epic 10-day lineup from 25 July to 3 August, with restaurants from across the coast hosting over 60 events where guests are invited to eat, drink, learn and chinwag.
Instead of one festival hub, The Curated Plate takes place across a mix of vibrant locations—from farms to fine diners, and everything in between. The 2025 program has been carefully curated by renowned chef Peter Kuruvita, and producers, brewers and distillers must submit local produce-packed menus to participate, so you know you’ll be getting the best the coast has to offer. Read on for everything to expect—and some standout events to catch.
If you’re looking for something a little more spesh than your average dining experience, check out From Land to See—A Culinary Cruise of Native Flavours. Set sail on a culinary adventure exploring local produce, seafood and bush tucker, with standout dishes like saltbush and pepperberry squid, washed down with a selection of botanical cocktails.
Dacelo’s Degustation will also be showcasing native delights, with an intimate five-course degustation and drink pairing. Alongside Dacelo Distilling’s spirits and selected wines, guests will indulge in dishes like creamy gin pasta with fresh bush tomatoes, and beef shoulder served with pearl couscous, cinnamon myrtle and a vodka hollandaise.
If a bevvy and a pub feed are more your speed, don't go past Beers, Boots & Bulls at Your Mates Brewing. It's set to be the ultimate country bash, with beer, live music, and a mechanical bull—plus fried calamari, wings, and hearty burgers on the menu.
For those who prefer to dine with a view, the Celebrate Glasshouse Country Long Lunch is held within a beautiful lychee orchard in the Glass House Mountains. Guests will be welcomed with a lychee cocktail, then treated to dishes spotlighting the finest local ingredients and flavours.
But it’s not just about the food at this year’s festival. The Coffee Farm Tour and Tasting Experience at Glasshouse Plantation is offering up a tour of the property’s 5000 Arabica coffee trees, with a coffee tasting experience showcasing some of Australia’s best home-grown coffee.
If you’ve got young ones in tow, try a family day out at Picnic on Kings featuring Bluey and Bingo. In a community-focused, lively atmosphere, local food will be on offer as Bluey and Bingo take the stage and provide hours of entertainment. Free lawn games, face painting and cooking activities are also on offer.
These are only a taste of the lineup of incredible events at this year's The Curated Plate. The festival has all bases covered, making it the perfect reason to visit the Sunshine Coast.
