So you’ve been up before the sun, paid tribute to those who’ve fought and continue to serve for the country, and now you’re dying with dry mouth for a cup of joe.
But no ordinary coffee is going to brush away the cobwebs that come with a 4.30am wakeup call, neither is a mediocre breakfast, so we’ve rounded up the best caffeine pushing, food-loving cafes that are open this ANZAC Day on the Sunshine Coast.
Winnie is a little wonderland tucked away in the tiny suburb of Woombye. If you haven't been there yet, you've probably committed a crime against the coffee gods. This place hums with the best vibes and loveliest people, and it doesn’t hurt their coffee and brunch is next-level. They will be open from 6am until 12pm.
Rick's Artisan Pies & Sourdough
Open from 5.30am until 2.30pm, Rick's Artisan Pies & Sourdough is an institution of a bakery serving up coffee and all our faves, like gourmet pies or specially baked sourdough. If you have a soft spot for all thing sweet, Rick’s is most certainly the place for you.
Urban Garden knows that you don’t want to be waiting until 7am for your first hit of caffeine. So, for ANZAC Day, these guys will start serving coffee from 5am. Even better, this year they're hosting a special ANZAC breakfast with favourites like eggs benedict and a brekkie burger, plus a breakfast gnocchi, on offer.
Little Boat Espresso
Little Boat Espresso is open from 6am to 12pm this ANZAC Day, serving up breakfast and coffee. Little Boat Espresso’s menus are heaven on a plate—but can you imagine how much better it is when paired with a Vintage Black Co. coffee? Two words: so good.
This light-filled Buderim cafe is the perfect place to ease into the day, with smooth coffee and a knockout plant-based menu that would satisfy any kind of hunger pains. The team here will be up with the sun, opening their doors from 5am to 12pm this Anzac Day.
The Milk Bar Coffee Co.
One of our favourite little Maroochydore cafes is making the early wake on ANZAC Day that much easier, by dishing up coffee and their infamous burnt honey and orange ANZAC biscuits from 5am. If you haven’t checked out The Milk Bar Coffee Co’s new look, this is your chance.
CK Coffee Bar & Wholefoods
Not many are as dedicated as the team at CK Wholefoods, who are promising to open extra early this ANZAC Day, so you can get your liquid gold before heading to a dawn service. Get in line from 4.30am and you’ll be walking away with a steaming brew.
On the hunt for the best coffee in Maroochydore? We hear you! There’s a few spots to choose from but one we can never go passed is Project Espresso. Open from 7am-11am with their full kitchen, coffee and juice bar.
Compound Secondhand Surf & Espresso
Tucked a street back from Coolum’s main drag, Compound’s four walls provide a gallery like space for a mean espresso bar, vintage surf threads, relic boards and free-flowing casual banter. Catering to all your coffee needs this ANZAC Day, from 6am to 1pm.
