The Verdict
Looking to escape the current madness of the world? Then head to Aloe Flora, Maleny’s lush new indoor plant studio.
Captained by Lauren Byers and Henry Norton, Aloe Flora specialises in all things botanical. From local pottery to epic coffee from Slide Coffee Roasters (the first venue to bring Slide to the hinterland), as well as plenty of workshops to keep those idle hands busy, you’ll definitely want to head there and get your weekly dose of botanical goodness.
The Aloe Flora venue itself is covered in bright green tufts of the hanging Indian Clock Vine, so you know these guys mean business when it comes to greenery. Once you step inside the charming, creaky building with its bright white walls and soft pink awnings, you’ll be immediately transported to your happy place.
If you feel like getting your hands dirty, Aloe Flora also has workshops available, teaching you how to make kokedamas (Japanese style planters), DIY macrame hanging shelves or helping you level up your watercolour skills; you can check all their workshop offerings here.
Aloe Flora is open Thursdays to Mondays from 10 am to 4 pm, so pop in, grab a coffee and enjoy this little green slice of heaven.
