The Verdict

Fresh and tasty, with just the right amount of spice, welcome to Mr Drifter, a Noosa restaurant you might not know about yet. 

Found along Sunshine Beach Road in Noosa Junction, this bar slash restaurant has made a name for itself for pumping out delicious and affordable Asian street food. Inspired by the spice trade, you’ll find dishes from India through to Indonesia within the pages of the menu. 

Duck in for lunch and grab a hawker roll—it’ll be tough, but you’ll need to decide between a filling of beef rending, sticky pulled pork, chicken tikka masala and tempura spiced eggplant. 

Or, if a dinner date is on the cards, wow your partner in crime with a dish of crispy caramelised pork belly on a flavoursome bed of citrus cilantro slaw.

For vegans, you’ll be pleased to know a lot of the fare at Mr Drifter is actually plant-based by default. Try the Dhal-icious—a combination of eggplant, carrots, potatoes, curry leaves, tomatoes and split peas, served with roti—and for dessert the Vegan Chocolate Pudding Pop. 

Mr Drifter is as unassuming as they come, and that’s just one of the things we love about it… That, and the food, and don’t even get us started on the cocktails.
