There’s a certain level of groundswell that occurs when the team behind Noosaville's renowned Sum Yung Guys open a new venture on the Sunshine Coast.

To describe the groundswell as loud would be inaccurate. Resounding would suit. Perhaps even deafening.

Primely located at the waterfront Noosa Marina in Tewantin, Peli’s brings sophisticated Mediterranean-inspired bistro style dining to Noosa and we couldn’t be more excited. The lively dining experience stars share-style plates with a focus on seafood and inventive vegetarian options, reflecting Peli’s waterfront location.

Crafted to be shared with good company, the menu is an ode to the plentiful fresh produce and seafood on the Sunshine Coast. Small plates like the yellowfin tuna with smoked tomato, capers, fennel and aged balsamic and the braised zucchini with fennel, ricotta, mint, almonds and chilli oil are standouts.

On the mains front, the BBQ swordfish with nduja braised cannellini beans and gremolata and the slow-roasted lamb shoulder with toum, cranberries and parsley salad are not to be missed. If you’re struggling to decide, the ‘Just Feed Me’ feast has you sorted, starring chef favourites.

Peli’s is the brainchild of celebrated restaurateurs Matt Sinclair, Michael Rickard, and Jeremiah Jones and their experienced touch is evident throughout the venue. Natural materials, coastal accents and warm tones are a nod to Peli’s Mediterranean inspiration, while a custom-built charcoal grill is the centrepiece of the kitchen and literally tonnes of natural stone fill the venue—from the entryway to the wine wall, bar tops, and even the bathrooms.

"We’re incredibly excited to open Peli’s," said co-owner Matt Sinclair. "Every time we  visited the space, we were greeted by pelicans. The name Peli’s felt like a perfect  fit—it captures the essence of the restaurant, the energy of the food, and the  atmosphere we want to create."

Peli’s also boasts a 40-seat private dining room which overlooks the water—a one-of-a-kind space on the Sunshine Coast—and is expected to be sought after for weddings and private functions.

Peli’s is slated to open 12 September 2024.
