The Verdict

The Savvy Squire is what craft beer-drinking dreams are made of. With a waterfront location in the Mooloolaba Wharf Precinct, this new brewhouse is big, beautiful and worth clearing your weekend for a visit.

Sitting on The Wharf Tavern’s old footprint, the new brewhouse took the team a speedy 11 weeks to completely transform a worn old-timer to the ultimate space to down a few cold ones, no matter the occasion. It feels sophisticated yet approachable. 

The menu is substantial, starting with smaller plates ideal for grazing on while you work your way through the full range of James Squire brews on tap. We recommend trying the Moreton Bay Bug sliders, BBQ Mooloolaba prawns and the pumpkin and thyme arancini. From there, go big or go home, with a pizza, burger, melt-in-your-mouth steak or comforting pub fare, like chicken parmy or braised beef short ribs. Really, you can’t go wrong.
