Popping up on Hastings Street, a stone’s throw from the beach, this pastel-coloured kiosk serves up super fresh tacos daily, from 6am (coffee starts at 5am) until late. And they’ll make your mouth water!
Perfect for that early post-surf breakfast, lazy beach day lunch or last-minute family dinner run, Xalapa’s menu is packed with so much tasty nosh, that we can almost guarantee you’ll become a regular.
For breakfast, we're loving the Huevos Rancheros; piled with Mexican black beans, free-range egg, melted cheese, pico de gallo and fresh tomatillo salsa. Followed by a Maca Caramel Frappe with cashew milk, almond butter, dates, banana, organic maca, vanilla and espresso. Delish.
Not a breakfast person? You’re in luck. Xalapa pile up their housemade, gluten-free, organic tortillas for lunch and dinner, so you won’t miss out. Opt for a serving of one, two or three tacos, and you’ll get to taste the likes of Barbacoa Beef with a crispy lime slaw and fresh salsa, Southern Fried Buttermilk Chicken, coated in spices with a blackened tomatillo, pineapple and jalapeno salsa, and Salt and Pepper Tofu with seasonal veggies, mirin dressing, roasted sesame seeds and coriander. Yep, you just died and went to taco heaven.
