A table full of assorted cheeses.

If we can steer your attention away from NSW state politics for a moment or two—we have a little excellent, cheesy news for your Tuesday afternoon. This month, Sydney will once again play host to Bon Fromage—a massive French cheese festival featuring more than a tonne of delicious cheese available to order for—wait for it—zero dollars.

For the unacquainted, Bon Fromage was masterminded by some pretty serious French cheese pros (the Centre National Interprofessionel de l’Economie Laitière, to be exact) along with the European Union. So yeah, in the wonderful world of cheese, it’s legit.

Like all good events in the last two years, this weeklong festival has gone virtual—but there is still a lot to love and a lot of cheese to eat too.

Like last year, you'll be able to order gourmet cheese packs filled with half a kilo of cheese for free. The only catch? You'll just need to collect your hefty box of free cheese yourself from the Entertainment Quarter.

Bon Fromage will also feature 16 free masterclasses where you’ll learn essential life skills from local cheese legends. Like, how to make cheesy crepes with Four Frogs, and how to craft cheese pastries with executive chef Francesco Mannelli of the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.

Classes will kick off from Friday 22 October—head over here for more details and to order your free box of cheese.
