If we can steer your attention away from the US election for just a moment—we have a little excellent, cheesy news for your Wednesday afternoon. This month, Sydney will once again play host to Bon Fromage—a massive French cheese festival featuring a hefty 1.5 tonnes of delicious cheese available to order for—wait for it—zero dollars.
For the unacquainted, Bon Fromage was masterminded by some pretty serious French cheese pros (the Centre National Interprofessionel de l’Economie Laitière, to be exact) along with the European Union. So yeah, in the wonderful world of cheese, it’s legit.
Like all good events in 2020, this weeklong festival has gone virtual—but there is still a lot to love and a lot of cheese to eat too.
This year, you'll be able to order gourmet cheese packs filled with half a kilo of cheese for free. The only cost you'll need to pay is a flat-rate shipping fee of $20. Insane? Madness? Whatever you want to call it, we are into it.
Bon Fromage will also feature free masterclasses where you’ll learn essential life skills like matching cheese to wine, beer or gin; the difference between creamy and stinky cheese and the tasty history of French cheese.
Cheese packs will be delivered from Monday 16 November, with classes kicking off from Saturday 21 November. For more details and to make your order, head over here.
