Next month, Sydney will once again play host to Bon Fromage, a massive French cheese festival featuring more than a tonne of delicious cheese that you can enjoy for—wait for it—zero dollars.
For the unacquainted, Bon Fromage was masterminded by some pretty serious French cheese pros (the Centre National Interprofessionel de l’Economie Laitière, to be exact) along with the European Union. So yes, in the wonderful world of cheese, it’s legit. Like all good events across the last two years, previous editions of Bon Fromage were hosted virtually—but this time, you can soak up the cheese (and the smell of cheese) IRL.
On a budget this winter? You're in luck with Bon Fromage. Entry to the festival is free, and cheese tastings are also free. Hosted in the Cargo Hall at the Overseas Passenger Terminal and backdropped by the twinkling lights of Vivid, an enormous cheese buffet will be the centrepiece of the festival with an array of French cheese on offer. Think Comté, Cantal, Emmental, Brie, Camembert, Triple-Crème, Langres, Pont L’Évêque, and more.
While the full program has yet to be revealed, we do know there'll be multiple stalls dishing out cheesy food creations, as well as bars, live entertainment, and a number of free cheese masterclasses. For more details, check the European Cheeses website, here.
