Fusion both inside and outside of the kitchen, English Ben Sinfield and Vietnamese Tania Ho fell in love after meeting at work in London’s St John restaurant. After moving to Australia, Ben worked as sous chef at Chippendale’s Ester, and Paddington’s Fred’s and we’re pretty sure you know by now that this one’s going to be good. They’ve combined their cultural heritage and passion for food to open up a Banh Xeo Bar at The Cannery, Rosebery and it’s exactly what you’re thinking.

Prepare to throw any semblance of healthy eating out the window, team. There’s a new ice cream truck in town and (wait for it) they’re serving pimped scoops of deep fried ice cream. We still have no freaking idea how deep fried ice cream really works, but what we do know is a creamy scoop of goodness wrapped in a crispy shell is a damn good idea. Always. 

From one (lactose intolerant) ice-cream lover to another, you’ll be over the moon to hear that Over the Moo have taken to Sydney’s roads (see what we did there?), bringing their vegan gelato goods with them. As Sydney’s first ever dairy-free ice-cream truck, Over the Moo was founded by Alexander Houseman, who felt that there was a severe lack of tasty dairy free alternatives in our fair city—and we couldn’t have agreed more..

Lemon Rose is a Sydney food trust that’ll transport your lucky little taste buds to a delicious Arabian night. Forget sacrificing your hard-earned cash in another restaurant and keep it casual at here, where Middle Eastern flavours meets American street eats.

Spice up your regular night in, by heading out to track down Dirty Bird Food Truck. The duo behind Dirty Bird have fused southern flavours with Japanese techniques, serving up their Americasian (as they’re calling it) fare, which is so good, you’ll be craving a chicken run every single weekend. Are you even a Sydneysider if you can pass on a fried chicken burger? Probs not, TBH.

You may want to acquaint yourself with our new food truck mate, Mate Burger. Owner and former financial planner, Henry, is fusing American with Filipino flavours in his tasty new menu. In the American camp, expect burgers like ‘The Big Mate’ and ‘Good ‘Ol Mate’ consisting of a milk bun topped with things like American cheese, glazed bacon and special mate sauce. 

Sydney’s first ever Egyptian food truck has finally arrived and these guys are serving up Cairo’s three most traditional—and delicious—dishes. All three are vegetarian and jam packed with flavour as you’d expect, plus they’ve got a whole lot of superfoods in them to boot—yes we’re serious. This one is the Taameva, served in a traditional balady flatbread pouch, with tomato, cucumbers, pickles, radish and tahini, these super food patties are like falafels but better. We’ve also got our eye on the Koshary, lentils, macaroni and rice topped with Middle Eastern spiced tomato sauce and may or may not be drooling at the thought of it.

Knafeh Bakery is the latest and greatest pop-up bakery, focusing on Middle Eastern street food, this family-run food truck has seen raging success. The entire production is run within a converted shipping container, with beautiful street art designed to take customers straight to the Middle East. Knafeh is a sweet dessert, made with sweet cheese or cream, finished with pistaschios and soaked in sugar-based syrup. Yum! The knafeh served by the Knafeh Bakery is made using a family recipe, and the chefs hope that sharing this dessert with Sydney will bring together people from many different races, religions and cultures, to share a love of food and tradition. We’re sold on the sound of that delicious sugar syrup!

Brimming with tasty eats and idyllic gardens, Mayfield Garden has a smorgasbord of fun events and is perfect for a weekend city escape or your next big milestone.

Custom made hot dogs from a red food truck? Seems like Harry's Cafe de Wheels has a little bit of competition. BrodDogs, the little brother of Canberra burger institution BrodBurger, has opened its first Sydney food truck. With four different types of hot dogs and eight hot dogs to choose from, this is any sausage-lover's dream! With their wide array of extras and sides, be sure to visit BrodDogs for their twist on the classic hot dog, and cauliflower and cheese sauce.

An American diner on wheels, Nighthawk Diner serving old-fashioned classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner like subs and shakes. First off, we need to talk about the subs, because the chilli cheesesteak, with beef brisket and oh so much cheese, has grabbed our attention. 

Ribs, burgers and shakes. Oh my! That’s right the beloved ribs and burgers combo from Wollongong stalwart, Char Char Bar & Grill has got itself a pair of wheels and is on the move. Not only is the Char Char Food Truck mighty tasty, but it’s been fitted out with an inbuilt sound system so you’ll probably here this baby before you stumble upon it.

If you need a bit of street food in your life, then POKLOL has you covered. The guys here don't have a permanent store, but travel around from place to place peddling their delicious wares. Ordering is simple: select your base (be it banh mi, soft taco, or a salad) and then choose your protein. The Korean tacos are a thing of beauty and the chichi fries with Bulgogi beef are loaded up fries at their best.

Okay, we love a good food truck, because what's better than fast, good food coming from Sofia (the truck has a name, we think it suits her) with cartoon vegetables on the side?

This Sydney food truck is tucked away in the streets of Marrickville delivering sweet treats to all. Famous for their Nutella jar stuffed full of waffles, ice cream, strawberries and (of course) Nutella, this gooey yet toasty treat will really hit your sweet spot, completed with a blank name tag to be filled at your will.

The saying goes “Happy as Larry,” and we can’t think of many things that make us more happy than traditional Neapolitan pizza, especially from a Sydney food truck. We’ve had burgers, Vietnamese and now pizza has been added to the mix, thanks to three guys with a pizza dream.
