MOULD, Sydney's biggest cheese festival, is set to return to Carriageworks this winter.
The annual cheese bonanza is a collaborative effort between Pinot Palooza’s REVEL, Nick Haddow of Bruny Island Cheese Co., and Dairy Australia. Last year, punters ate a whopping 1 million cheese samples and took more than 8.5 tonnes home with them.
At this year's festival, attendees can meet with reps from over 27 local producers and sample over 100 varieties of Australian-made gooey, stinky and hard cheeses in the name of garnering a greater appreciation and understanding of the art of cheesemaking.
In 2024, you'll also be able to try a selection of exclusive cheeses created just for the MOULD festival. Under a new section called "The Great Cheese Commission", participating artisans will create varieties you won't see anywhere else.
As well as tastings, MOULD also promises a full food menu of dishes from local cheesemongers. And, naturally, where there is cheese there is wine, so there will also be a fully stocked bar for tasting a broad range of wines, whiskies, beers, ciders and sakes.
