2023 is shaping up to be a pretty starry-eyed year for Sydney—with yet another three-Michelin-star restaurant locked for a local residency (L'Enclume is also headed our way this year).

This time around, however, the restaurant also happens to be dubbed the "world's best", scoring the title from The World’s 50 Best Restaurants from 2019 through to 2021. Yes, Mirazur—a superstar from the Cote D’Azur—has revealed today it'll be popping up in Sydney for three weeks this March, taking over the kitchens at Pier One Sydney Harbour.

The Sydney residency is a part of Mirazu's Beyond Borders project, where the team travels the world to find inspiration in new places and cultures. “Mirazur Beyond Borders is the opportunity for us to enrich our knowledge, philosophy, and commitment," explains chef-owner Mauro Colagreco. "I have visited Australia a few times and what excites me is that it is a country where there is a huge diversity of nature, landscapes, and species."

"It’s very important for me and my team to learn from and experiment with the ingredients we find in the country we visit, and to learn from all the people and products we encounter on the way,"  Colagreco continues. "Although we are coming to Australia for a few weeks, I already know we will leave with something that lasts forever.”

Sustainability, nature, and biodiversity are at the heart of the Mirazur philosophy, and the travelling team will use Australian produce to create a site-specific menu that mirrors the experience of the restaurant in France.

Keen to score a seat? Bookings will go live from midday on Monday 13 February.
